Tour Itinerary
Day 1 - Depart USA Overnight flight to Cairo.
Day 2 - Arrive Cairo (2 nights) Meets you on arrival at Cairo Airport and transfers you to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 3 - Cairo sightseeing On our guided tour we visit the Egyptian Museum, home of King Tutankhamun’spriceless treasure, discovered by Howard Carter in the Valley of the Kings in 1922. Then we proceed to one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Great Pyramids at Giza, including the Great Pyramid of Cheops and we see their inscrutable guardian, the enigmatic Sphinx! (Buffet breakfast)
Day 4 - Aswan – Nile cruise (3 nights) This morning we are transferred to Cairo Airport to board our flight to Aswan. We visit the High Dam and we travel by motorboat to the temple of Isis, rising from the waters of the Nile on the Island of Philae. At noon we board our Nile cruise ship in time for lunch. In the afternoon we sail in a traditional Nile felucca around Aswan’s Botanical Gardens and view the Aga Khan Mausoleum. (Buffet breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Day 5 - Nile cruise: Kom-Ombo – Edfu This morning is at leisure or maybe join the optional excursion to the mighty Sun Temple of Abu Simbel, flanked by four giant statues of Ramses II. The temple was reclaimed from the dam and reconstructed in its present location. In the afternoon we sail to Kom Ombo to visit the temple dedicated to the Crocodile God, Sobek, and then on to Edfu. Tonight we don traditional Egyptian galabeas for a fun-filled Egyptian Dinner and Galabea Party. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Day 6 - Nile cruise: Edfu – Luxor This morning we visit Egypt’s best preserved cult temple at Edfu, dedicated to the falcon god, Horus. We cruise on to Luxor where we visit the ancient Temple which dominates the town. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Day 7 - Disembark – Luxor – Cairo We disembark from our cruise ship and we visit the extraordinary Valley of the Kings, where the New Kingdom pharaohs were buried in dramatically shafted tombs built into the hillsides. Then on to the breathtaking Deir el-Bahri, Queen Hatshepsut’s impressive temple, the Colossus of Memnon on the West Bank and the gigantic temple complex at Karnak on the East Bank before we fly back to Cairo. Day 8 - Cairo – Alexandria We drive through the desert to Alexandria, making a stop at the Coptic Monasteries at Wadi El Natrun (if open). The city of Alexandria was founded by Alexander the Great in 322 BC at the point where the Nile meets the Mediterranean, and is reputed to have been the birthplace of Cleopatra. It was the most important cultural centre of Egypt in ancient times but declined after Cairo became the capital of Egypt in 969 AD. Today Alexandria is Egypt’s leading port and a most important industrial centre but still has a reputation as a cultural centre, and has a beautiful seafront area known as the Corniche. This evening, we will enjoy the views as we dine in a local restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)

Day 9 - Alexandria sightseeing – Cairo Our guided tour shows us the white marble Roman Amphitheater, Pompy’s Pillar, the Kom Elshokafa Catacomb, the National Museum and El Morsi Abu El Abbas Mosque. Later we drive back to Cairo. (Buffet breakfast)
Hotel: Le Meridien Heliopolis / Concorde El Salam Hotel
Day 10 - Cairo – USA We transfer you to the airport for your return flight home. (Buffet breakfast)
