Spend the first part of your time in Madagascar searching out the indigenous lemur in the Mantadia Natural Reserve, a lush rainforest. Tour the Tsarasoatra Bird Sanctuary and see if you can spot its more than 70 bird species. Cruise the Canal des Pangalanes and meet local fishermen in traditional villages. Later, transfer to your luxurious Relais & Château hotel in a tranquil setting near the ocean.

Day 3
Drive to Andasibe, stopping en route in Tsarasoatra Bird Sanctuary, which contains over 70 species of birds, and Marozevo Park to observe endemic butterfly and frog. Continue to your forest lodge for a sunset walk to spot nocturnal lemur.

Day 4
Walk through the Andasibe Natural Reserve, a lush rainforest and home to 60 groups of lemur. Look for the black and white indri, the largest of all lemurs. Andasibe is also home to tanrec, chameleon, numerous bird species and very interesting flora. Photograph these friendly forest-dwellers, and then drive to Manambato and cruise on the Canal des Pangalanes, observing traditional villages and local fishermen along the way.

Day 5
After breakfast, visit the Palmarium for an up-close look at the resident lemur population. Lemurs are found only on the island of Madagascar and some of the smaller surrounding islands. They have long tails used for communication with each other and for maintaining balance when leaping between trees.

Day 6
Enjoy your morning at leisure. After lunch, take a boat ride to Tamatave and connect with your flight to Antananarivo. The cruise gives you the opportunity to observe life on the Pangalanes canal: villages on the banks, bus-boats, fishermen, wooden rafts loaded with goods. It is a true glimpse into the local culture. 

Day 7
Tucked away in a 988-acre reserve, the Anjajavy Peninsula is a paradise for nature and sea lovers. Anjajavy Reserve is a spectacular example of dry deciduous forest and contains Coquerel's sifaka, mouse lemur, the rare Madagascar fish eagle and chameleon. Your hotel offers tranquillity in a truly welcoming setting, where the exceptionally rich fauna, flora and tsingy reflect the diversity of the red island. With no roads or scheduled air in this remote end of the world, you travel by private plane.

Days 8-9
Spend your days relaxing at the hotel, and be sure to have a cup of coffee or tea at the Oasis to observe lemur travelling right past you on their daily feeding route. Explore the nearby forest, visit the caves, watch for lemur, enjoy a scenic cruise, or simply relax. 

Day 10
This morning, transfer to the airport to board your departure flight to Antananarivo and continue on your journey.
