Day 2: Damaraland
Regarded as one of the richest collections of ancient rock engravings in Africa, Damaraland is the site of thousands of engravings and some early paintings, making this a valued UNESCO World Heritage Site. Days 3 & 4: Damaraland / Etosha National Park
Enter world-famous Etosha National Park, which owes its unusual landscape to the Etosha Pan, a vast shallow depression. Among the rarer animals you may encounter are black and white rhino, black-faced impala, which are restricted to Namibia and southern Angola, and Damara dik-dik, the park’s smallest antelope. Day 5: Etosha / Windhoek / Depart
An early morning excursion takes you to Lake Otjikoto, where in 1915, retreating military forces dumped weapons to keep them from the South African Union forces. Some weapons have been recovered and can be viewed at the Tsumeb Museum. Continue our journey through Otjiwarongo and Okahandja to Windhoek and your onward departure. (B)
