South Africa’s tourism industry has been very busy devising new and more innovative touring experiences and designing ever more luxurious lodges and hotels. This itinerary incorporates several of our most favorite recent developments, from a lavish spa in Cape Town to a lovely new hotel outside the city and an exciting outdoor sleeping experience in the bush! Start in Cape Town with a jet lag massage during your stay at the Mount Nelson Hotel; their Librisia Spa has become one of the city’s most acclaimed. The next day, head out on a very full day to see the city’s main sights, take a scenic helicopter ride, hit the Winelands, and conclude the day with a cooking class. The next day, explore Robben Island and then go touring with Uthando, a non-profit organization that supports community projects in the townships. From there, transfer to the new Tintswalo Atlantic and explore the stunning Cape Peninsula before enjoying a day at leisure. Next transfer to Tswalu; this lodge feels more like Namibia than South Africa, and you will have the unique opportunity to spend a night in the bush at part of their “sleep out” program! Transfer to Johannesburg for two nights; as part of your visit, you will spend a morning with master storyteller and award-winning tourguide Robin Bickes. From Johannesburg, spend three nights at Londolozi, one of South Africa’s very finest lodges, a fittingly luxurious way to conclude this magnificent trip.
