Days 1-2: USA or Canada/Dar es Salaam, Tanzania Board an overnight flight to Dar es Salaam and transfer to your hotel. Kilimanjaro Kempinski Hotel
Day 3: Dar es Salaam/Selous Game Reserve Fly to Selous Game Reserve, the world's largest game reserve, supporting nearly one million head of game, including big-tusked elephant and large-maned lion. Days 4-5: Selous Game Reserve
Large herds of elephant, buffalo, hippo, lion, leopard and various antelope call the wild and unspoiled bush of Selous home. Your game viewing options in this World Heritage Site include safari drives in open 4x4 vehicles, bush walks and guided boat rides, where you are likely to see vast herds of buffalo and elephant along the Rufji River. Day 6: Selous/Ruaha National Park Fly to Ruaha National Park, where you enjoy your first game drive in this remote wilderness area en route to your lodge. You may spot elephant, lion, leopard and cheetah as well as sable and roan antelope, kudu and bushbuck. Days 7-8: Ruaha National Park The Ruaha is a pristine, untouched naturalist's paradise with huge populations of elephant, buffalo, zebra, lion and leopard. Day 9: Ruaha National Park/Zanzibar After an early morning game drive, fly to the exotic spice island of Zanzibar with the afternoon at leisure. Zanzibar Serena Inn B L D
Day 10: Zanzibar Stroll through the city's fruit and spice market and visit the Anglican Church. Slaves were once held in its underground chambers before they were sold at market. Explore relics from the era of the sultans and early explorers at the Zanzibar Museum, then glimpse modern life as you amble through Stone Town's narrow streets. Later, travel into the country and see the numerous spices, seasonal fruits and medicinal plants. Stop to visit the Persian baths at Kidichi, built by the first sultan for his Persian wife.
