Itinerary
Day 1Siem Reap
Upon arrival in Siem Reap, Cambodia you will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will transfer to a pagoda where you have the opportunity to give special alms to the monks. You then visit the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, the antique capital of Angkor Thom, the Bayon Temple, the Royal Enclosure, Baphoun, Phimeanakas, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. See the sunset by elephant from atop the viewpoint at Phnom Bakheng. Enjoy dinner at Shinta Mani. The Raffles Grand Hotel D’Angkor
Day 2
Siem Reap
Visit the most famous of all the temples on the plain of Angkor: Angkor Wat. Use tuk tuks or bicycles as your mode of transport, and take a balloon ride here for a panoramic birds-eye view of the temples.
Then, visit Ta Prohm, one of the most beautiful temples in the area, as it has been relatively untouched since it was discovered and retains much of its mystery. It has been left to be swallowed by the jungle, and looks very much the ways most of the monuments of Angkor appeared when European explorers first stumbled upon them. Also, visit the Dance School of ASPECA where you can watch local children learn the ancient traditional Khmer dances, as well as the local market. The Raffles Grand Hotel D’Angkor.
Day 3
Siem Reap
Travel to the remote Beng Melea temple through typical Khmer countryside—the drive takes you through many lively villages and along kilometers of rice paddies. Explore the long abandoned temple (site of the movie ‘Two Brothers') strangled by the jungle. Return to Siem Reap for dinner and a shadow puppet show. The Raffles Grand Hotel D’Angkor
Day 4
Siem Reap to Bangkok
This morning you enjoy a visit by boat out to a community on the great Tonle Sap Lake. Visit shops and schools on stilts as you tour the village to see their unique way of life. This afternoon you are transferred to the airport for your flight to Bangkok, Thailand, for your international flight.
