The State of Bihar in India has the longest history, reaching back over 3010 years. More that 6,132,000 tourists visited Bihar last year to enjoy the multitude of cultures, temples and important historical attractions and sites. Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism and Sikhism areall represented here with numerous temples and schools. The Capital City is Patna, and is the earliest recorded inhabited places on earth.
Bihar has some important, and ancient universities like the Vikramasila University and the Nalanda University. The Nalanda, a Buddhist University was famous as far as Greece, Persia and China over a thousand years ago. The Vikramaśīla, a Buddhist University, a goes back to 783. Both of these renowned universities occasionally swapped scholars.

The Ganges River flows through this state and is important for very transportation of commerce. The Pink Dolphins are found here and are a protected species. The Vikramshila Gangetic Dolphin Sanctuary is dedicated to saving the dolphins.
The Valmiki National Park and Tiger Reserve has a rich variety of animals and habitat suited to rare species. This is a favorite attraction for wildlife photographers.
It's chilly in the winter months, December through January and warm until April when it gets its hottest. The monsoon months are June to September when you can expect lots of rain.
