Begin with two nights in Bali and a day of touring in Ubud before flying to Ujung Pandang in Sulawesi. Travel to Rantepao, your base for exploring the Toraja heartland, with its unique houses and fascinating rituals. This magnificent region has a rugged, mountainous beauty and is home to one of the most intriguing cultures in Indonesia. Travel back to Ujung Pandang for a flight to Manado in Northern Sulawesi, where a day snorkeling or diving at Pulau Bunaken awaits. Considered one of the top dive and snorkel sites in the world, Pulau Bunaken exceeds the expectations of even the most seasoned diving enthusiasts. Next, spend a full day at the Tangkoko Reserve, where visitors can see many of Sulawesi’s endemic species, including the baribusa, and anoa, in a natural environment crowded with hot springs and volcanic craters. Spend a day exploring the nearby Minahasa Highlands, where the locals carefully cultivate clove, corn, and coconut. Conclude this magnificent Sulawesi adventure with a final night in Bali.
