3 Days Luang Prabang - World Heritage City Tour Package
Dinner is at a local restaurant to sample delicious Luang Prabang style Laotian cuisine. Later, stroll through Luang Prabang's fabulous night market. Overnight stay in Luang Prabang. D Day 2. Luang Prabang Sightseeing. At down, participate in offering alms to the hundreds of saffron robed monks. After breakfast, depart on the Mekong to visit the sacred Pak Ou Buddha Caves. Stop by Ban Xanghai village where local people produce Lao rice wine. After exploring the caves and lunch at a local restaurant nearby continue by road to visit Kuang Sii Waterfalls. Return to Luang Prabang by road. It may also be possible to stop to visit local paper making or weaving villages. The balance of the day is at your leisure. BL Day 3. Luang Prabang Sightseeing & Depart. After breakfast take a visit to Luang Prabang's National Museum, formerly the Royal Palace (not open Tuesdays). Continue on, to visit nearby Wat Mai the five-tiered roof of the wooden Sim (chapel) and visit the local or H'mong market. Return to your hotel to checkout, enjoy lunch at one of Luang Prabang's local restaurants or cafes before transferring to your onward flight. Luang Prabang is an outstanding example of the fusion of traditional architecture and Lao urban structures with those built by the European colonial authorities in the 19th and 20th centuries. Its unique, remarkably well-preserved townscape illustrates a key stage in the blending of these two distinct cultural traditions and has now become a World UNESCO Heritage site. This is an awesome city and extra nights are definitely recommended.
This afternoon depart with your guide for an orientation and to visit some of the highlights of this atmospheric town. First visit is to Wat Xieng Thong temple then continue on to Phou Sii Hill. The energetic can climb its 350 steps to enjoy panoramic views for many miles in each direction.
