Day 2: Bangkok
Bangkok is one of the most vibrant cities in Southeast Asia, distinctly modern while keeping its Eastern flavor. It has been called the "Venice of the East" for its system of canals, or klongs, traversed by distinctive long-tailed boats. The city is divided into two parts by the Chao Phraya River, with Bangkok proper on the east side and Thonburi on the west. Your hotel is ideally located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.

Day 3: Bangkok
Explore Bangkok by boat, stopping at the magnificent Grand Palace, a complex of brightly colored buildings, golden spires and glittering mosaics dating back to 1782, when the city was founded. It served as the official residence of the king of Thailand from the 18th century to the mid-20th century. Nearby is the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Constructed at the end of the 18th century by King Rama I, this splendid example of Thai aesthetics and religious architecture houses Thailand's most venerated image, the Emerald Buddha, made of green jade or jasper. Tonight, join fellow travellers for cocktails and a welcome dinner.
