3 Days Gurung Lodge Trek Vacation Package

All trekkers require a trekking visa. All treks offered are for the moderately fit and healthy traveller. You can trek at your own speed. You are accompanied by experienced Sherpas who not only act as guides but also cook, can carry your luggage if necessary and assist in any way possible. Trekking in the Everest region is strenuous due to the high altitude. The Treks shown below are not strenuous and can be accomplished without undue stress.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1. Pokhara/Gurung.
Transfer by private vehicle to your trek starting point. The drive takes one hour and fifteen minutes. You will stop along the way to Photograph the breathtaking Panoramas of the Annapurnas. Upon arrival at the village of Lumle situated at an altitude of 1610 m., you begin your one and a half-hour walk to Gurung Village. After about 45 minutes, arrive at the village of Chandrakot situated at an altitude of 1580 m. From this village, there are spectacular views of Annapurna South, the sacred and unclimbed Fishtail Mountain, Machhapuchhare and the surrounding Modi Valley. From Chandrakot, your walk takes you through a forested area along a well worn trail for a further 45 minutes to the Gurung Lodge which is situated at an altitude of 1450 m. After lunch at the lodge, you will be escorted to the local village where you will be able to explore more picturesque villages. There will be a talk at a local house, which is owned and lived in by lodge staff. The contents of the house will also illustrate how the local people live, together with the tools and implements of day to day traditional village life. Overnight at Gurung Lodge.
Day 2. Gurung.
After breakfast at the lodge, you will have an optional morning walk through the surrounding forests for 1 1/2 hours to a viewpoint only known to a few. This bears the name of Gurung Hill. From here, there are magnificent views of the entire Annapurna range together with views of the Dhaulagiri and Lamjung Mountains. Tea and biscuits will be served from this viewpoint. Return to the lodge via a different route. Lunch will be at the lodge. This will be followed by a short walk to the local school where the headmaster will talk about the local education system. There will be then a visit to the lodge by the Children who will perform some of the dances and songs particular to the region. Should guests have any pens or wish to make a donation of US$ 3.00 per person, either will go directly to the school and will greatly assist with improving the education of the children. Funds are generally collected and are used to improve the classrooms and facilities. Overnight at Gurung Lodge.
Day 3. Gurung/Pokhara.
After early morning tea in your room, you will have the opportunity to photograph the stunning scenery from several different locations around the lodge. After breakfast, return to the village of Lumle via several different viewpoints where you will enjoy views of the surrounding valley and mountains. On the way back to Pokhara, the vehicle will stop at the Tibetan refugee camp where you will have time to explore the temple and surroundings. Arrive back in Pokhara.
WHEN TO GO TREKKING IN NEPAL
Trekking in Nepal can be undertaken at any time of the year. There are four seasons and each one has its distinct attractions to offer.
September / November This time of the year offers excellent weather and wonderful mountain views.
December / February Occasional snowfall, only at higher elevations. Ideal time for trekking at lower elevations generally below 3000 metres.
March / May This is the season for wild flowers. It is mildly warm at the lower elevations and moderate over 4000 metres where the mountain views are excellent.
June / August Wet and warm, this is a good time in the higher valleys and meadows as the flowers and lush vegetation are in full bloom.
