Sydney is recognized as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and is best known for its outdoor lifestyle. Hop on a ferry for a harbor tour that will give you a great view of the city. Fly to Alice Springs in the heart of the Red Centre - Australia 's last frontier.
It's a perfect base for an outback experience, combining heritage and modern facilities. You'll then journey by motor coach to Uluru/Ayers Rock, a place steeped in the rich, mystical culture of its Aboriginal people. Cairns is in the center of the tropical north and is the perfect location for exploring the region. The Great Barrier Reef is the longest reef in the world and ideal for swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1. Depart the West Coast for your flight to Sydney on Qantas Airways.
Day 2. Cross the International Dateline. Lose a day which you will regain on the return trip.
Day 3. Arrive Sydney. You will be transferred to your hotel where you will spend the next four nights.
Day 4. Sydney Sightseeing. Morning is free to relax before heading off on your afternoon tour of Sydney. Visit the major hightlights before wandering along world famous Bondi Beach. See the city's downtown precincts, the historic Rocks area, the bohemian and vibrant Kings Cross, sandy white beaches and affluent harbourside suburbs in just one afternoon.
Day 5. In Sydney. Morning coffee cruise on Sydney Harbour. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 6. In Sydney. You have the day at leisure to explore this cosmopolitan city. we can arrange additional touring for you. You may want to consider a trip to the Hunter Valley for some wine tasting or to Canberra, the Nations capital or to the Blue Mountains.
Day 7. Sydney to Arrive Alice Springs. Depart Sydney for the famous "Town like Alice", where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon is free to explore Alice Springs. Tonight you might like to visit the Casino or "Take a camel to dinner" (own expense).
Day 8. Alice Springs. Visit the Alice's main attractions including the Royal Flying Doctor Base, School of the Air and Panorama Guth. Visit the original 'Alice Springs' and the historic Telegraph Station. A panoramic view from Anzac Hill of the township and the MacDonnell Ranges finishes a truly informative tour. Entrance fees included.
Day 9. Alice Springs to Ayers Rock & Olgas. Off early by coach and travel through changing scenery from the MacDonnell Ranges, over the Finke River into the semi-arid desert country that surrounds Ayers Rock and the Olgas. Overnight at the magnificent Yulara Resort where the hotels outlined below are located.
Day 10. Ayers Rock. All morning is spent visiting the area, with time to climb "The Rock" if you wish. You'll hear some of the Aboriginal mythology and legends which surround this area. There is also time to visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. In the afternoon you have time to relax or take more tours - perhaps a harley Davidson ride around the rock or a quad bike tour! In the evening we suggest a ‘Sounds of Silence dinner’ tour which is certain to be a highlight of your tour (additional cost to the sightseeing package).
Day 11. Ayers Rock to Cairns. You will be transferred to the airport for your Qantas flight to Cairns. Upon arrival in Cairns, you will be transferred to your hotel where you will spend the next four nights.
Day 12. In Cairns. A free day to explore this tropical city.
Day 13. Great Barrier Reef. Travel on Quicksilver's magnificent wavepiercing catamaran to Agincourt Reef, one of the ribbon reefs on the very outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef. You can choose whether to dive, snorkel or view the abundant sea life from the underwater observatory, or semi-submersible submarine. A delicious smorgasbord lunch is included.
Day 14. Kuranda & Skyrail. Board the famous Kuranda Scenic Railway for a breathtaking journey on one of the world's most scenic operational train routes. Stop to view the spectacular Barron Gorge Falls before arriving at Kuranda Railway Station.The day is yours to explore the Village in the Rainforest and when you're ready to depart, make your way to the Skyrail terminal to return to Cairns. En route see the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park stage show. Transfers are included.
Day 15. Cairns to the West Coast. Today ends your two-week, fantastic trip to Australia. You will be transferred to the airport for your Qantas flight to the West Coast. Don't worry mate, you can come back!
