Travel right across Australia from the Pacific Ocean to the Indian Ocean (or vice versa) in first class comfort on board the famous "Indian Pacific". Take in the classic sights of Sydney and Perth and stopover in Adelaide, where you visit the Barossa Valley and stay overnight on fabulous Kangaroo Island.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1. Arrive Sydney. G’Day! Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Park Regis Hotel, The Menzies, Radisson Plaza, Intercontinental Sydney, Harbour Rocks
Day 2. Sydney Sightseeing. This morning during your guided walking tour of the historic Rocks area, you will enjoy views of the harbour and see historic buildings and sandstone stairs whilst wandering through the many alleyways. Your guide will tell you the story of the settlement of New South Wales. This afternoon we take a city tour past the Opera House, Botanical Gardens and the southern beaches including Bondi.
Day 3. Canberra Day Tour. Your day tour will take you to the Parliament House, the National Gallery and the Australian War Memorial. Travel to the top of Mt. Ainslie for a terrific view of Canberra. Return to Sydney late evening.
Day 4. Sydney - Adelaide. Your morning tour will take you to Homebush Bay, site of the 2000 Olympics, before arriving at one of Sydney’s finest wildlife parks. See many native animals including dingos, wombats, crocodiles, and birds. Feed kangaroos and see lovable koalas. Please make your own way to the Central Railway station for your 2:55pm departure on the world famous "Indian Pacific". You are now traveling west in first class comfort. D
Day 5. Arrive Adelaide. An afternoon arrival gives you time to enjoy Adelaide. Medina Treasury, Mercure Grosvenor, Radisson Playford, Majestic Roof Garden Hotel. BL
Day 6. Barossa Valley. Full day excursion to the famous Barossa Valley. Originally settled by Germans, the little towns are still a picturesque part of Australia's largest wine growing area. Wine tasting and lunch are included. L
Day 7. Kangaroo Island. Make your way this morning to the airport for a short flight to Kangaroo Island. This former whaling base is now a wildlife paradise and home to a breeding colony of sea lions as well as seals, kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, echidnas, platypus and countless bird species. We overnight on the island at Kangaroo Island Lodge. L
Day 8. Adelaide. Morning at leisure on Kangaroo Island before an afternoon flight back to Adelaide. You will be met and transferred to your hotel. L
Day 9. Depart Adelaide. You will be transferred to the Central Railway station to board the "Indian Pacific" for your 6:40pm departure from Adelaide. D
Day 10. The Indian Pacific. Sit back and enjoy! BLD
Day 11. Arrive Perth. Approximately 9:10am. The rest of the day is at leisure. Ibis Hotel, Grand Chancellor, Novotel Langley, Duxton Hotel, Seasons of Perth.
Day 12. Perth and Fremantle sightseeing. Today enjoy a tour visiting Kings Park, Government House and the Royal Perth Yacht Club. In the afternoon we cruise along the Swan River to Fremantle, site of the First America's Cup defense outside the U.S. Visit the markets, arts centre before returning to Perth.
Day 13. Depart Perth. Stay longer if you wish, ( interesting Monkey Mia idea, commences today).
