There are over 150 natural, recreational, heritage, wilderness and wayside parks in Manitoba. Walk the unique prairie desert of Spirit Sands at Spruce Woods Park, or wander Riding Mountain National Park, home to a great herd of bison. Up on the shores of Hudson Bay is Churchill, a frontier town on the route polar bears follow to their winter dens. Lake Winnipeg, the 14th largest freshwater lake in the world, is famous for its shifting sand dunes and powdery white sand beaches.

Pristine land and waters, open skies, and sunsets that blend into sunrises are all part of the Northwest Territories.
Yellownife, the capital city, is located on the shores of Great Slave Lake, and is the gateway to the Arctic regions. Nahanni National Park Reserve, southwest of Yellowknife, is one of NWT's four national parks and an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The jewel of the northern region is Algonquin Provincial Park, the wilderness paradise that inspired Canada's famous Group of Seven landscape artists. You'll also find North Bay, a bustling supply centre for hunting and fishing enthusiasts.

This crescent-shaped province holds many treasures; winding coastal highways, red sandstone coves to explore, sandy shores for beachcombing, and courses galore for great golfing. Cold on the outside. Toasty on the inside.

Winter in Canada is the time to play outdoors. You'll find world-famous winter festivals, unique outdoor adventures, and spectacular skiing. Strap on snowshoes for a trail-blazing hike across snow covered fields. Glide through silent forests on cross-country skis, or gather your team and go dogsledding. Explore the 53,000 miles of interconnecting snowmobile trails in Ontario, Québec, and New Brunswick.

Canadian cities are not only beautiful in winter but offer a wealth of unique experiences. Take advantage of Vancouver's warmer temperatures for a winter stroll, or skate Ottawa's Rideau Canal, the world's longest skating rink. Winter also brings with it new seasons of theatre, opera and symphony, and a chance to make the most of the 18 miles of stores in Montreal's underground city.
