Itinerary
Day 1: Destination Canada Tour starts at 5:00 p.m. at your Halifax hotel. Enjoy the welcome reception at Pier 21, which features exhibits chronicling 20th-century Canadian immigration. Meals: Dinner Lodging: Delta Barrington, Halifax, Nova Scotia
Day 2: Historic Lunenburg Travel along the rugged Atlantic coast to the fishing village of Lunenburg. Established in the 18th century, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is the best surviving example of a planned British colonial settlement in North America; it’s a Nova Scotia travel highlight. See 18th and 19th-century wooden houses on a walking tour, or instead, visit the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic. Stop in Peggy's Cove, another picturesque fishing town, then return to Halifax. Day 3: Prince Edward Island Take the ferry to Prince Edward Island, which features many miles of beaches and rich farmland in the interior. Arrive in the provincial capital of Charlottetown, and enjoy the musical performance of Anne of Green Gables at the Charlottetown Theatre Festival during the season. Day 6: Journey to Digby and Annapolis Royal As your Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia travel adventure continues, cross the Confederation Bridge to New Brunswick and on to Nova Scotia. Journey to Annapolis Royal to see the Fort Anne National Historic Site, and visit the Habitation at Port Royal National Historic Site, dating back to the early 17th century. Day 8: Acadian saga Travel through rich Annapolis Valley farmland to Grand-Pré National Historic Site, where the British deported the French Acadians in 1755.
