Cathedral Mountain Lodge is located in Yoho National Park, on the western boundary of Banff National Park just 15 minutes from Lake Louise, Alberta.
The new lodge and authentic log cabins are nestled in the trees at the edge of the glacier-fed Kicking Horse River, offering Canadian Rockies accommodation at its finest. The cabins are perfectly appointed to create an oasis of luxury. Warm yourself by the wood-burning stone fireplace. Indulge in a leisurely bath in the soaker tub. Ponder the serenity of the wilderness while sitting on your large private deck.

Cathedral Mountain Lodge Accommodations
Cathedral Mountain features log cabin accommodation and is nestled beside the Kicking Horse River and surrounded by glacier peaked mountains. Our cabins offer a break from the routine hustle and bustle of urban life and in keeping with this concept do not have televisions or telephones.
Riverside Premier
Our premier log cabin features an oversized wood burning stone fireplace, stocked daily with firewood and cedar kindling, and a spacious private deck with fabulous views of the Kicking Horse River and the surrounding peaks. This cabin comes appointed with a fully stocked complimentary bar fridge with a selection of wines, juices, sparkling water, cheese, hand made chocolates, flat breads & crisps. Guests will also enjoy luxurious bathrobes and personal slippers, upgraded Aveda spa amenities, daily guided hikes at Moraine Lake with the resident naturalist and a selection of in room music.
The premier log cabin is furnished with a custom made log queen size bed topped with our luxurious cozy down duvet and feather pillows. The large sitting area is beautifully appointed with Canadian antiques; tall sliding doors lead to the spacious bathroom with a deep soaker tub.

Riverside Loft Five of the log cabins feature lofts allowing accommodation for up to four people. In addition to the pine log queen size bed, the loft has two twin beds, accessible by a traditional ladder, of course! Mountain View Our newest cabins offer rustic log king, queen or two twin beds with a down duvet, vaulted ceilings, gas fireplace and spacious decks. Oversized windows provide mountain views and create a perfect retreat for couples. Pet Friendly Cabins Can't bear to leave your furry friend behind? Cathedral Mountain Lodge offers pet-friendly accommodation in our Mountain View Deluxe Queen Cabin. Our pet friendly cabins come complete with a cozy dog bed, dog amenities, and a special treat to start the holiday off right.
Cathedral Mountain Lodge Dining
Gourmet Delights at Cathedral Mountain Lodge The beautiful new Lodge is home to a magnificent Great Room and the Dining Room and Bar. The Restaurant at Cathedral Mountain Lodge has enjoyed an excellent reputation for innovative presentation and fresh regional cuisine. Consistently chosen as one of the best small restaurants in the country, all meals are prepared with quality and health in mind.
Our menu showcases the best of the Rockies while focusing on organic and free range in-season regional cuisine. Our extensive wine cellar features Canada's finest wine, as well as many excellent selections from both Old and New World vineyards. The large stone fireplace and elegant Rocky Mountain interior are the backdrop to the views of the glacial fed Kicking Horse River.
Cathedral Mountain Lodge Activities
Guided Hiking: Half day hikes offered daily (approximately 3 – 4 hours long), departing from Moraine Lake Lodge, with routes alternating between:
a. Larch Valley – alpine valley with spectacular mountain lakes and streams nestled in a forest of magnificent larch trees.
b. Consolation Valley – Consolation Lake is surrounded by glaciers, spectacular Rocky Mountains and avalanche scree slopes. On the trail you will see 10 – 20 varieties of alpine mushrooms, spectacular colors of Indian Paint Brush (flower), and many varieties of alpine flowers.
c. Both hikes are considered moderate.
Canoeing on Moraine Lake: available to all Cathedral Mountain Lodge guests on a complimentary basis. Participate in an activity that has been ongoing in Banff National Park for over 100 years!! Canoe dock is open daily from 10:00AM to 7:00PM.
Plan 60 – 90 minutes for one trip, activity is considerate moderate.
Icefield Helicopter Tours: What better way to explore the Canadian Rockies than by helicopter? View pristine alpine meadows, streams and glaciers. Guests will be overwhelmed by the sheer majesty of the surroundings. Truly spectacular- a can’t miss!!
Tours leave the base every half hour between 7:00am and 10:30pm. Allow 2 hours travel from Cathedral Mountain Lodge.
River Rafting: An exciting activity that is sure to bring a smile to your face and a memory not to be forgotten. The rafts are launched just outside Yoho National Park into the Kicking Horse River, 45 minutes from Cathedral Mountain Lodge.
Horseback Rides: Trail rides begin at Lake Louise. Choose a trip to either of the unique tea houses located in the area.
Snow Coach Tours: The unique snow coaches take you onto the Columbia Glacier, which covers 325 square kilometers, one of the largest accumulations of snow and ice south of the Arctic Circle.
Golf: Enjoy a round of golf at one of BC’s “Top 30” golf courses. Four courses available within 60 minutes from Cathedral Mountain Lodge."
Lake Louise Gondola: located approximately 20 minutes from Cathedral Mountain Lodge, the gondola takes visitors to an elevation of 6850 feet. View grizzlies during the June 1-20 period as they feed on wild flowers, and in August, when they feed on wild berries.
