Chilko Lake Resort, British Colombia Vacations, Honeymoons Luxury Vacation Packages

In the heart of British Columbia just a one-hour flight north of Vancouver and Whistler, The Lodge at Chilko Lake is situated at the north end of Ts'yl-os Provincial Park. Overlooking Chilko Lake and the headwaters of the Chilko River, The Lodge is a wilderness escape, away from ringing cell phones, backed up traffic and hectic daily schedules. The serenity of the lodge and the majestic B.C. landscape that surrounds it will melt your tension away.
Upon your arrival to the Lodge at Chilko Lake, it won't take you long to slow down and slip into relaxation mode. There's plenty of room in your cabins to spread out and unwind. The main lodge is a formidable timber frame structure manufactured from local trees and is the focal point for meals, cocktails and most socializing. Its meticulous construction is more of an art form than traditional building.
Vaulted ceilings, gorgeous slate flooring, leather club chairs, comfy couches and tiffany lamps are commonplace. The lodge has an inviting deck, dining room, wireless Internet and a big screen television (if you must). The upper level is a luxurious suite with impressive king bedroom, sitting area and grand bathroom complete with double headed showers. The ground floor has a bar, games room and access to the popular fire pit area.
The surrounding cabins are stunning. Carefully positioned for view and privacy, they are a mixture of one and two bedroom log and timber frame structures. The cabins are unique but equally breathtaking featuring fine craftsmanship, comfortable furnishings and adorned with magnificent antiques and collectibles. The units are self-contained and have comfortable living rooms, private bathrooms and kitchenettes.
“The Lodge at Chilko Lake” is an upscale, luxurious private residence owned by Phil and Anne Huston who live on-site 6 months of the year. Anne is an antique collector and has lavishly furnished the property while Phil watches his stocks until 1pm and then goes fishing. Both are gracious hosts, philanthropic (when guests are not there, they host dozens of veterans injured in Afghanistan and Iraq) and have a magnificent chef, maintenance staff and a property manager. Needless to say, the residence is warm, friendly and impeccable.
Whichever room style you choose, Ts’yl-os Provincial Park is just a step outside.
With weather that is almost always warm and sunny, you will be able to spend your days experiencing British Columbia's unspoiled Chilcotin wilderness first hand. At these latitudes spring is a glorious time for renewal and boasts the best wildflowers and the longest days of the year. Summer offers the best weather but autumn brings the driest season and the return of millions of salmon. Along with them, comes fantastic eagle, cougar, grizzly and black bear viewing opportunities.
In all these seasons we offer river trips by inflatable raft and by classic hard hulled drift boat, sea kayaking, hiking, heli-hiking, fishing, mountain biking and horseback riding – knowing you’ll return to one of British Columbia’s finest “home away from home” at the end of each day.
Upon your arrival to Chilko Lake, it won't take you long to slow down and slip into relaxation mode. Want to cozy up with a good book? Each cabin has a comfortable living room and the main lodge is full of great reading treasures and regional maps to scour over. The Lodge also has wireless Internet and a guest computer to check email. Feeling competitive? We have a wide variety of games and our resident chess champion, Mikey, is always up for a challenge.
How about kicking back with a movie? We have a (discreetly located) large screen TV where you can enjoy your favorite flick along with our famous freshly baked cookies in a bottomless cookie jar.
