Tsylos Park Lodge, British Colombia Vacations, Honeymoons Luxury Vacation Packages

After a one-hour charter plane flight from Vancouver, British Columbia, over the spectacular Coastal Mountain Range you will arrive at the north end of 52 mile-long Chilko Lake. Fed by glacial streams and surrounded by majestic peaks, it is one of the most impressive areas in British Columbia.
Tsylos Park Lodge is located at the north end of Chilko Lake, the gateway to Tsylos Provincial Park. This is the dividing point between the Coast Mountain Range and the Chilcotin Plateau, where the Chilko River winds its way down to the coastal watershed. The area offers excellent fly fishing, horseback riding, hiking and hunting. Sixteen guests are accommodated in four individual guest rooms and three cabins, all with private bathrooms. All of our log buildings have been constructed with local timber. All of our guided adventure trips are based at the lodge or from the lodge.
Tsylos Park Lodge Accommodations
We accommodate 16 guests at the lodge in our four individual rooms and three log cabins. All of our rooms and cabins have private bathrooms with showers. Our main lodge and dining area has a large stone fireplace, comfortable couches, a hot tub on the back porch and of course a stunning view of the mountains and Chilko River. Many evenings are spent sharing our daily adventures around the fireplace with a cocktail, soaking in the hot tub looking at the stars or playing horseshoes along the river.
Our accommodations are rustic, but very comfortable. There is daily maid service to ensure that your room or cabin is kept comfortable for your stay at the lodge.
Tsylos Park Lodge Dining
Life at the lodge is focused around the great outdoors. The gathering of everyone for meals is a special time of the day. We serve all of our meals at the lodge "family style."
Wonderful Canadian breakfasts as well as fresh fruits, cereals, yogurts, and juices are served before you active day on the river, lake or trail.
Lunch is spent streamside, on top of a mountain, or wherever your wanderings have taken you, giving you total freedom throughout the day.
Our evening meal is especially nice...after a great day, everyone can relax with a good meal, a glass of wine and great company, sharing stories from their adventures. Wonderful meat dishes, breads, salads, pastas, vegetables, delicious desserts and table wines are served. This is all ‘no guilt’ eating, as your active day ahead needs the energy!
Tsylos Park Lodge Activities
Fly Fishing
Tsylos Park Lodge offers fully guided river fly fishing vacations. Our pace is relaxed, the scenery superb, the waters are crystal clean, and the fish are healthy and strong.
Our Rainbow Trout are all native to the Chilko Water System. These beautiful fish have an abundant food source due to the extremely large salmon runs in the autumn, the huge smolt escapement in the spring and the big summertime hatches of river bugs. The Rainbows range up to the mid 20 inch size and you will catch most over 18 inches. They are excellent fighting fish and have gorgeous colouring.
Our cozy mountain lodge is located on the banks of the Chilko River and you will not have to travel to the fishing spots. Our guides ensure that your fly fishing vacation is the best that it can be!
Horse Pack Trips
Our one week Horse Pack Trips are more than just a wonderful riding experience, it is a life experience. These trips seek the adventurer in all of us. They challenge us to step out of our normal comfort zones and have the courage to try something different and new. It could be the call of the wild or the experience of so much free space, but in answering the call, our spirit thrives. For many that have joined us in these wilderness mountains and slept beneath the stars, it has been a life changing experience. These trips truly experience pristine alpine wilderness.
The photo opportunities are some of the best in the world, amidst rugged glaciers, mountain meadows, alpine flowers, crystal clear lakes and streams, and wildlife. The vistas and settings are too beautiful to put into words.
Lodge Riding
Riding is a physical experience. It brings all of our senses alive. It is the smell of a good horse, of leather, the fresh scent of a pine or fir forest, it is the sound of cantering hooves, of crackling leaves, of horses snorting or a soft whinny. It is the seeing of new country and spectacular vistas unexplored. It is the feeling of a strong animal beneath you, of you own strength and ability, and although few words are spoken, lines of communication between horse & rider are shared and understood. It’s the freedom to just ride for miles!
Our daily rides from the lodge offer a variety of excellent riding experiences. Explore the Chilcotin Plateau, which offers open grasslands, rolling hills, numerous small lakes, adjacent mountain peaks with unmatched vistas and a couple of hundred miles of riding trails. You will love it!
Grizzly Bear Viewing
The Grizzly bear is a symbol of the Canadian wilderness and is often thought to be the keystone to a healthy ecosystem. Each fall Grizzly Bears are drawn throughout the area to the Chilko River to feast on the bountiful Salmon that fill its waters. This migration offers us a unique view into the world of the Grizzly Bear and its ecosystem.
The Chilko Valley has one of the largest concentrations of Grizzly Bears during the peak season in the fall. It is not uncommon to see many large boar Grizzly Bears as well as many sow and cub combinations. It is exhilarating to see a mother Grizzly passing her fishing knowledge down to her cubs and witnessing there first catch. Watching these wonderful bears playing and fishing in their natural environment is an experience you will never forgot.
We offer a variety of different opportunities for you to view and photograph the Grizzly bears as well as the many other wildlife that call Chilko home. Bear watching during the morning and evenings along the lake or river can be very exciting. We do not wish to disturb the natural feeding of the bears, but would just like to observe and watch them gorge on this seasonal salmon meal. After a great day of bear watching you will be treated at our lodge with gourmet meals prepared by our first class chef. After supper join us in the bar for a cocktail or have a relaxing soak in our hot tub.
