Your home is an impressive log lodge built on the shores of Tyaughton Lake. You will find a cozy atmosphere with accommodation in spacious double rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. With 29 guest rooms, a dining room with vaulted ceilings, conference room and a patio overlooking the lake, Tyax is one of the most impressive and largest log structures in Canada.

After a day of backcountry adventure, a jacuzzi and sauna are available for you to unwind and relax in. The lakeview dining room and lounge act as the focal point for adventure stories to be shared at the end of a great day in the mountains. Sky Camp

Imagine stepping out of a wood-fired sauna, plunging into a cool clear lake and then sitting on a patio sipping a drink as the sun falls behind towering peaks with glaciers hanging off their flanks. After a day of backcountry adventure, retire to your luxurious and
private safari-style walled tent. Snuggle into your hand hewn log bed outfitted with a cozy duvet and plump pillows. Spend your days at Crystal Lake canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hiking, mountain biking or just relaxing on the beautiful shores of the lake.

Floatplane Sightseeing

There is no better way to see more of the awe-inspiring backcountry than from out of the window of a floatplane. With a bird’s-eye-view, see massive glaciers, ancient volcanic formations and great beasts of the wild. These unique guided tours of the Coastal and Southern Chilcotin mountain ranges are without any doubt, the best way to discover the region, especially if you’re short of time. Six window seats in the De Havilland ‘Beaver’ floatplane offer unimpeded views for everyone. The Beaver is a classic bush plane, sturdy and extra-reliable. These planes are the ‘workhorses’ of the Canadian backcountry, since the mid 1940’s they have been used for military reconnaissance, expeditions and mail delivery to remote areas.
