September in Tofino is one of our favorite months – summer warmth, seagulls on the feed, picturesque sunsets, and a nice late summer getaway after the back-to-school rush.
The Wickaninnish Inn offers direct access to Chesterman Beach, panoramic ocean or beach views from every guest room. We also have 75 deluxe guest rooms and suites (with fireplace, soaker tub and individual balcony), a 720 sq. ft. meeting/banquet room (accommodating up to 60 people). The Pointe Restaurant seats 75 and our full-service Ancient Cedars Spa is an AVEDA Destination Spa that offers extensive body and esthetic treatments.
The Wickaninnish Inn story begins way back in 1955, and is closely tied to the modern-day history of Tofino and the Pacific Rim National Park, and of course to the popular draw of Tofino winter storm watching.

Deluxe Rooms : Every room at the Wickaninnish Inn, a world-class hotel, reveals its unique vista overlooking the Pacific Ocean or spectacular Chesterman Beach. Deluxe rooms at the Inn offer a variety of King and double Queen bedded configurations, with all rooms featuring excellent views, a fireplace, individual balconies, and either double or single-sized soaker tubs. You and your canine companion will be comfy in a pet-friendly room, furnished with special doggy amenities. A variety of modern conveniences and special touches created by local artists and artisans complement the Tofino vacation experience.
Premier Rooms : These three corner rooms provide the ultimate West Coast perspective. Each presents a spectacular two-directional ocean view with four large windows looking west and south. Larger than our deluxe rooms, these accommodations feature a King-sized bed, double soaker bathtub with its own view, fireplace and generous balcony to further enjoy this unique ocean perspective.
Suites
Frank Island Suites : Frankly, you'll be impressed. Named for the rocky islands at the mid point of Chesterman Beach, these are full one-bedroom suites with King-sized bed, generous bathroom, two fireplaces, a cozy living room area and private balcony, all with views of the Chesterman Beach surf and the ocean waves rolling in. A cushioned reading bench is perfectly situated to enjoy the morning and early afternoon sunshine while sneaking the occasional ocean view over a good book.
 Beachcomber Suites : Our Beachcomber Suites offer a similar configuration to the Frank Island Suites but with a little more of the old-growth forest framing the beach-to-ocean views. It too offers a generous bathroom featuring two sinks, double soaker tub and freestanding shower, both with views down Chesterman Beach. Of course, the double fireplaces and private balcony are also part of the package. In place of the reading bench, as in the Frank Island Suite, there is a full wet bar arrangement.
Chesterman Beach Loft Suites : Home sweet home! These split-level loft suites are on the top floor and feature a King- sized bed complete with spacious bathroom on the upper level. On the main floor of this luxury accommodation are all the comforts of home: casual gourmet kitchen, dining area and living room, convenient half bathroom, and ocean-to-beach views from everywhere, even the kitchen!
Speaking of the kitchen, no need to fuss, we can provide a chef from our award-winning kitchen brigade to cook for you or arrange to stock your fridge in advance. Traveling with family, even the four-legged ones? Inquire about a pet-friendly suite! Connecting rooms are available for some suites. Ideal for any length of stay on Vancouver Island or as a place to gather friends or family and yes, you can move in whenever you like!
The Canopy Suite : If you're feeling slightly medieval and positively romantic, consider the Canopy Suite - the Inn's ultimate accommodation. The panoramic Tofino view of Clayoquot Sound is stunning through floor-to-ceiling windows that stretch right across the room, including the bathroom. Featuring a King-sized bed with canopy, living room area, wet bar, fireplace, spacious private balcony and an amazing bathroom with side-by-side double soaker bathtub as well as a multi-jet shower for two.

 If the Wickaninnish Inn is the oyster, its pearl has to be Ancient Cedars Spa. On the Ocean level of the Pointe building, the Spa is nestled into the forest fringe, adjacent to the wave dashed-rocks looking out to the open Pacific. Here, certified professionals provide a journey into a sense of well being, with an emphasis on relaxation and rejuvenation, in harmony with nature. As an AVEDA Destination Spa, bringing the AVEDA experience to Ancient Cedars Spa means more than just featuring AVEDA products. The AVEDA concept is based on the holistic principles of Ayurvedic medicine, carefully considering the wellness of the whole person in determining the best spa treatment for each guest. Here we feature an excellent selection of Pacific Northwest wines, a quality range of classic ports and one of B.C.'s largest selection of single-malt scotches.
Driftwood Coffee Lounge Nestled on the Beach level, the 'Driftwood Lounge' is one of our hidden gems at the Wickaninnish Inn. The Lookout Library at Wickaninnish-on-the-Beach is home to historic treasures, a computer terminal, and dramatic Chesterman Beach views. Henry Nolla's Carving Shed borders the beach and old-growth forest, carrying on the traditional First Nations techniques used by the late master throughout the Inn - if you see the "Open" sign, come in and see what premiere Nuu-chah-nulth carver Joe Martin and Lyne Desrosiers are creating!
With our four-legged guests in mind, the Pet Shower Station features a shower wand and fluffy towels for a post-beachtime freshening up. Sample the West Coast's lush temperate rainforest right here at the Inn on our Rainforest Beach Loop Trail, a ten-minute path just steps away from your room or suite!
