Local Area Overview
Anguilla's unusual reef marine system was created when seven freighters were purposely sunk to form manmade reefs. Because of the very shallow sites (all between 35 and 110 feet deep) and near lack of underwater currents, it is a very safe place to dive--and an ideal spot to see a variety of colorful underwater wildlife. Visitors can fly into Anguilla's Wallblake Airport from San Juan in one hour, from Antigua in 45 minutes, or from St. Maarten in seven minutes. Guests can also take a 20-minute ferry ride over from Marigot Bay in St. Martin and arrive at Blowing Point.
