Recently renovated, Grand Royal Antiguan's guest rooms exude a tropical radiance that reflects the vibrant, natural beauty of the Caribbean. We have 265 luxury guest rooms situated in two wings of the 8-story main building. Twelve one-bedroom cottages are located in a 2-story building with a poolside view. All of our Antiguan resort accommodations have cool tiled floors, with love seats and wing chairs covered in bright, tropical prints that complement the bedspreads and drapes.

All rooms have a similar layout with the option of one king-sized bed or two double beds. Rooms feature large bathrooms with shower/tubs, marble vanities and complimentary toiletries. Guestrooms also have air-conditioning, cable television, direct-dial phone, clock radio, and a key card lock system. Our ocean view and Lagoon view rooms provide a panoramic vista of the Lagoon or ocean.

Mountain View Rooms: Spacious rooms with a mountain view located on the rear side of the main tower. These rooms have no patio or balcony and are the only rooms where children younger than 8yrs may stay. Maximum occupancy is 4 persons.

Lagoon View Rooms: These rooms are located on the 1st through 4th floors of the main tower and possess an exquisite view of the lagoon. Each has a private balcony or patio. Maximum occupancy is 4 persons.

Ocean View Rooms: Located on the 5th through 8th floors of the main tower. These Deluxe Antiguan resort accommodations have a panoramic view of the ocean from their private balconies or patios. Maximum occupancy is 4 persons.

Cottages: We offer 12 one-bedroom cottages in a two-story building located in the tropical gardens near the pool. Each cottage has a private patio or balcony and offer larger accommodations than the other Antiguan guest rooms we offer.

Cottages feature a separate living room and wet bar, in addition to the amenities of rooms listed above. Only king-sized beds are available, and children younger than 8yrs are not permitted in these rooms.

Guests can choose from tempting Caribbean specialties or gourmet meals with an international flavour, all created by our executive chef and his team of highly qualified chefs. Our three exquisite restaurants and beach grill provide a wide variety of dining options, each with its own distinct ambiance. Our Antigua hotel restaurants are sure to meet the demands of everyone, from the casual diner to the discerning connoisseur. At The Grand Royal Antiguan Beach Resort, guests can choose from Caribbean dishes at Andes on Deep Bay Waterfront Restaurant on Antigua's beautiful beach and sumptuous theme buffets at the Lagoon Café, or make reservations for fine dining at Barrington's, where gourmet dishes delight the palate. Room service is available from 7:00am until 11:00pm, for those wishing to dine in the quiet of their guestroom.

The Andes on Deep Bay Waterfront Restaurant

Relax in this casual, beachfront setting and enjoy a unique, open-air experience above turquoise waters. The Andes features a Caribbean and American a-la-carte menu with daily specials.

The Lagoon Café

Enjoy a spectacular Caribbean breeze as you sit in this patio-style outdoor café, complete with rattan tables and chairs. There is a stunning view of the lagoon from all tables, not to mention the spectacular view of the sunset. Daily breakfast buffet and theme buffet dinners are available.

The Barrington's Restaurant

Experience fine dining at its best with a spectacular, international menu and intimate atmosphere. Named after Fort Barrington, which saw the most military action in Antigua during the 1770s, this 80-seat air-conditioned restaurant is decorated to replicate that period. Here, you will be treated to an exquisite array of gourmet dishes, such as oysters, smoked salmon, veal, lobster and scallops. This restaurant is only open for dinner and reservations are required. A dress code is in effect. Al fresco dining is available at our open-air Tamarind Terrace adjacent to the Barrington.

Jimmy's Beach Grill & Bar

Right on the beach, Jimmy's Beach Bar & Grill serves lighter meals and snacks throughout the day. Its convenient location is perfect for beach-lovers taking a break from water sports or sunbathing. This rustic takeaway restaurant serves Caribbean specialties for lunch. There are also several bars on the property that serve refreshing beverages and Caribbean cocktails.

Dress Code : In The Barrington, shoes must be worn and bathing suits covered. After 6:30 p.m., men wear slacks or tailored Bermuda-length shorts and collared shirts with short or long sleeves (no T-shirts or tank tops). Women may wear dresses, skirts, slacks, culottes or tailored Bermuda-length shorts (no short shorts or cut offs).

Please Note : The resort allows sleeveless shirts and/or tailored Bermuda-length shorts for men at all bars and restaurants EXCEPT for Barrington's Restaurant.

The Grand Royal Antiguan Beach Resort has five bars in addition to the poolside bar. The Andes bar and Jimmy's Bar and Grill both offer refreshments in a beachfront atmosphere. The Atrium lobby bar and the lounges in the Lagoon Café and Barrington Restaurant also serve Caribbean drinks and tropical cocktails.

With a full bar that includes beer, wine and liquor, we offer a range of drink options. Enjoy a beer in a breezy, outdoor bar, or cap off a gourmet meal with an exotic cocktail. As varied and delightful as our resort restaurants, we have a bar to suit every mood.

Your entire wedding is coordinated through our team of hosts who can arrange flowers, cakes, champagne and any special requests to make your special day truly memorable. The spacious grounds of the resort are a lush paradise. Relax under a palm tree along the beach or read a book in the lovely, tropical gardens, filled with flowering plants. Guided tours through our extensive gardens are available for nature-lovers.

Pool - Our pool features two dramatic arcs, one measuring 120 feet with a swim-up bar, and the other measuring 60 feet with a shallow children's section. The terracotta deck is flanked by lounge chairs and thatched shades and is ringed by palm trees. Several days a week, a palmist plies her trade in a cabana near the pool. A playground is also located near the pool, which will be sure to entertain the kids.

Beach - The beach is a half-mile stretch along Deep Bay at the resort's western end, and is the hub for many non-motorized water sports. A water sports centre provides complimentary snorkelling gear, Sunfish sailboats, windsurfers, kayaks, water bikes and pedal boats to all of our guests. For a surcharge, the centre also offers parasailing, personal watercraft, water skiing, banana-boat rides, glass-bottom boat rides and cruises.

Resort Land Activities

Tennis

The resort boasts of eight championship tennis courts for complimentary daytime use (four hard courts and four omni grass courts). Tennis clinics are available for guests wishing to learn the game for a small surcharge. Tennis equipment is available at the resort.

Our small, air-conditioned fitness centre features cardio machines, a universal gym and free weights. An air-conditioned beauty salon, which offers massages, body wraps, scrubs and facials, is located next to the fitness centre.

Entertainment

Evening entertainment commences at 7:00 p.m. The Club, located in the hotel's lobby, is an expansive nightclub with a bar and dance floor, which opens nightly for live music, karaoke or DJ music. An electronic casino, offering video poker, slot machines and a horse game race, is adjacent to the Club.

Pool Olympics, trivia games, beach volleyball, soccer, cricket and table tennis are all provided to our guests free of charge.
