Papagayo Beach Resort is an environmentally aware, luxurious and restfull resort built in natural surroundings on the south of Curaçao. The resort is situated near by our fascinating city " Willemstad".Our restaurant Seasons has an outstanding ambiance. There you can have a good breakfast, a quick lunch or an extended dinner. By means of this website we try to give you a good impression of our Resort.


Villa

Your villa is charmingly decorated and furnished by the famous Dutch architect Mr. Jan des Bouvries. The natural materials used in the villa create a cozy atmosphere that puts everyone at ease. Each colonial-style villa has a large living room with a wrap-around porch and an open kitchen with refridgerator, dishwasher, coffeemaker and microwave/grill oven. The two bedrooms are air-conditioned and both have separate bathrooms with shower, wash basin and toilet.

The living room is equipped with a television with remote control and an international direct dial telephone with voice mail. If you choose to bring your computer with you we can set up an internet account for you. The villa has garden and/or sea view and some overlook the pool as well. Each villa is fitted with a safe as a standard feature.

The tropical garden
Papagayo Beach Resort has an outstanding tropical garden with exotic flowers and Caribbean plants such as Cactuses, Aloe Vera, Banana trees and above all the beautiful Caribbean Palm trees.

Your villa is in the middle of this spectacular garden, where brightly coloured birds flit in from branch to branch. In these tranquil surroundings, you have chance to completely wind down. Life and nature on Curacao is a dream from which you never wake!

Our outstanding service
At the Papagayo Beach Resort you are guaranteed outstanding service. The rooms are cleaned three times a week and clean linnen is provided, daily housekeeping upon request. Fresh beach towels are free and available on a daily basis. We also offer you a laundry service.

We can do your grocery shopping for you and have a special Starters or VIP package for you ready in you villa, upon request

The new improved Baya Beach is a Lounge Club in the traditional sense of the word: a place to lounge and sun, enjoy quality beverages and food, and somewhere to meet friendly people in a relaxed atmosphere.
During the whole week the chillin' Baya Beach offers you a lot of other possibilities such as: watersports, snorkeling, or just relaxing on your floating mat on the South Carribean Sea

Mambo Beach 
 
A full facility beach, this beach has palm trees and white sand. Ideal for children. It has a good selection of shops, bars, restaurants, and facilities for every imaginable water sport. Very busy on weekends, and the place to see and be seen. Topless sunbathing allowed.

Curacao's beaches are every sun seekers dream 
 
Curaçao has some thirty public and private beaches, ranging from intimate rocky coves to long strands bustling with activity. Almost all of the swimming beaches are scattered along the sheltered southwestern coast, where the waters are generally calm and crystal clear. The northern coast, with its powerful surf and strong undertow, is not suitable for swimming. Topless bathing is officially prohibited on all public beaches and some private ones, although tacitly accepted in some places.

Curaçao's waters are teeming with underwater life: multi-colored parrot fish, silvery barracuda, spotted French angelfish and colorful butterfly-fish are just some of the varieties you're apt to see. Colonies of coral and sea anemones inhabit the waters just off the shore.

If you've never snorkeled or dived, now may be good time to learn. At the very least put on a mask to get a glimpse of the wonders just below the surface. It is recommended that you snorkel with a buddy.

This beautiful aquarium complex is one of the most unique in the world because of its 'open-water-system', which means that sea water is continuously pumped into the aquaria.

During the feeding shows you can touch and learn about the animals. For some real fun you can snorkel or scuba dive and hand feed stingrays, sea turtles, sharks and many other colorful tropical fish. For those who do not want to get wet, they can watch the fun of the divers whilst seated in the Underwater Observatory Boat. After all that excitement you can relax in the coolness of our museum and theater.

Dolphin Academy
Dolphins... the grace and beauty of their form and movement amazes us... their playful, curious nature charms us... and their built-in grin amuses us. Our ancient desire to understand them has given rise to a wealth of myth and legend, but what are the realities about dolphins?
Indulge your curiosity, and let Dolphin Academy's intimate and informative programs reveal how the truth about these magnificent animals is more fascinating than fiction ever imagined!
Dolphin Academy offers a variety of programs in which you can interact with the dolphins. Touching, caressing, diving, swimming, training, and kissing, it's all possible. You can also attend our free daily educational presentations or just observe the dolphins from the side of their natural lagoon.
And because we are eager for you to learn something from your close encounter with our dolphins, education is an important part of the many programs offered at the Dolphin Academy, located at the Curacao Sea Aquarium. Whatever you choose to do at Dolphin Academy, it will be an experience never to forget

Jeep Safari
Get to know the Curaçao countryside by Jeep. Along narrow tracks, past grand estates, mansions, caves, flamingo's, huge fields of cactus and many gorgeous beaches. The tour is held on Wednesdays and Fridays. The experienced drivers can also make a night rally. For more information contact any of the tour operators.

Bicycle Tour
Discover Curaçao and get some exercise at the same time! Cycle through the beautiful surroundings and the real Curaçao countryside. Most of the trip is on surfaced roads, but occasionally you'll come across a narrow track or hill, but on a mountain bike that won't be a problem. The cycling tour ends on one of the many beaches on Curaçao where you can recover from your trip and go swimming and snorkeling. For information ask at your hotel or Cruise Director.

Canoe Safari
Looking for something different? These seaworthy and extremely stable canoes will take you along the breathtaking south coast of Banda Abou. And there's plenty of time on the way to go snorkeling in the best places and sunbathe on one of the picturesque beaches.

Christoffelpark Excursions
On foot: Every day, by appointment, a walk goes to Savonet/Boca Grandi and shows how the plantation system was organized, how the irrigation system worked and how these activities affected the environment.

By car: There are three routes to take through the Christoffelpark, and they require the use of an experienced guide. The tours must be reserved in advance, and cost about Nafl 150,=, entrance fee included, for a maximum of six people.

On horseback: The Christoffelpark has its own ranch; Rancho Alfin. Various routs for guided tours on horseback are offered ranging form one hour to an entire day trip. Inexperienced riders and children over 6 years old can also take part.

Sail/Snorkel and Boat trips
There are various organizations that offer trips to, for example, Klein Curaçao, Bonaire, Porto Marie bay, Cas Abou beach, the Spanish Water and Venezuela. A sunset or snorkel trip is one of the many possibilities.

Diving on Curacao

Curaçao is ranked among the Caribbeans best islands for diving: the "Mushroom Forest" is one of the top dives in the world. Shore diving is rated with the best in the Caribbean, and the island has been called one of the top destinations for new divers.

An arid climate, deep water close to the shore, distance from major sediment sources such as rivers, and painstaking reef conservation ensure that underwater Curaçaos pristine coral reefs remain home to a dazzling array of plant and animal life. Whether you are an experienced certified diver, a beginner or a snorkeler, our wide range of sites -- wall, reef, wrecks, even a Car Pile -- balmy water temperatures and excellent visibility (averaging about 100 ft.) provide an extraordinary experience for everyone.

Boat diving with a recommended dive operator is the most comfortable and luxurious way to dive Curacao, and for beginners with their Open Water Certificate, this option gives the greatest feeling of security. Many experienced divers prefer to head out and explore the numerous shore diving sites with their buddies. Most shore diving sites are easily accessible: with a good map of the island and a rental car, visitors can reach almost all sites in less than half an hour.

Curaçao is also home to the largest air station in the Caribbean, as well as two decompression chambers, one the largest in the Caribbean.

Divecenter Scubado

Scuba Do is unique because of her location. Right at the beach, close to the sea in the Jan Thiel bay. Scuba Do is situated in a colorful building with a cool terrace and a great view over the caribean ocean. With a little luck you can even see dolphins passing by.From the start our PADI instructors have been known for their safe and solid way of teaching. All our courses meet the PADI standards. Service, personal attention and of course a lot of fun is what you will find 365 days a year.

Dive Center Scuba Do is also the place to go for diving and snorkelequipment. Our shop offers a wide variety of gear with brands like Sherwoord (dealer), Mares, Tusa, Trident and Seafan, and we are an official Sherwood dealer. Let us help you out!

Children can enjoy themselves at the playground, and you have a choice of bars and restaurants, all surrounded by palmtrees and sparkling white sand. Just find a spot, lie down, listen to the rolling waves and relax.
