Some hotels have regularly scheduled entertainment. Catch a first-run movie at Carib cinema in Roseau or Portsmouth.Most nightlife in Roseau takes place Wednesday, Thursday and weekends. Fort Young hotel features live pan music Monday during its buffet on the terrace of the Waterfront restaurant. Fort Young is a popular Happy Hour spot on Friday where you'll hear Caribbean sounds. Showcase your talent on Karaoke Night at the Garraway Hotel on Friday.
Cellars bar at Sutton Place Hotel in Roseau is popular on Wednesday when amateur bartending takes place and live bands perform. The evening really starts to heat up at about 11p.m. Cellars Bar also features karaoke, jazz and a 50-inch big screen TV for tuning into your favorite music videos and major sporting events.
To enjoy the waves, the cool breeze from the sea, the delicious chatrou and Lambi water in a warm and exotic ambience, the Fort Shirley at Portsmouth is the most existed place to be. The music is also part of the entertainment.
If you want to listen to the song of the river and enjoy the local cuisine and local drinks in tropical spicy ambience, the Saaman Tree at Canefield is the great place to be.
At Scotts Head, Sundowner Café is aptly named. A great place to sip a rum punch and watch the sun disappear while listening to jazz.
The Warehouse, a 5-minute drive north of Roseau, adjacent to Canefield Airport, is the island's major dance club, packed every Saturday. Recorded disco, reggae, and other music is played from 11pm to 5am in this 200-year-old stone building, once used to store rum. Club Magic at Loubiere is gaining a good reputation and is a few minutes walk from my favourite bar, Spiders . Also try Scorpio in Morne Daniel, or Sylvania Discotheque in Sylvaniaevery week end.
If you're seeking more action, such as it is, head for Stone Edge This rustic restaurant/bar is bursting with character, it's natural ambience and setting is a sure winner for those looking to for a different atmosphere. On Friday nights their menu offers a variety of tasty dishes and a affordable price and a great place to lounge and enjoy a Caribbean evening. Happy hour on Friday is the time to show up. You might be offered some black pudding or stewed chicken to go with your local tropical drink. A homegrown calypso band is likely to entertain. You'll definitely hear some "jing ping."
In Portsmouth , the Paladium Disco , recently opened by Portsmouth Beach Hotel is the most popular disco to go to on weekends. There is also Le Perroquet , located centrally in Lagoon.
Porky's in La Plaine swings non-stop every weekend from 8:00 p.m
