Oualie Beach Resort, Resort Hotel Vacations, Honeymoons and Travel Packages

Oualie Beach Resort is a very unique Caribbean experience. The property is owned by the Yearwood family of Nevis whose ancestors came to the Caribbean from the UK in 1650.The Hotel is right on the beach and has just 32 rooms located in gingerbread Caribbean style cottages a mere 40 to 60 feet from the beach.
All the rooms face the beach with breath taking views of sunset and the neighbouring Island of St. Kitts just 2 miles across the water. The legendary Green Flash is a common sight as the last edge of the sun dips beneath the horizon.Oualie bay is a calm, shallow, sheltered cove. Children and the less efficient swimmers feel safe and at ease in the water. On site are most of the activities that one would normally associate with a much larger resort. These include snorkelling, spa treatments, scuba, windsurfing, mountain bikes, ocean kayaks, sailing, game fishing, car rentals and guest email access. Our staff can arrange for nearby rainforest hikes, golf, tennis and horseback riding.
Oualie Beach Resort Hotel, Accommodations
Room Types
The rooms are spaciously scattered along the beach in single and two storey Gingerbread Cottages that reflect the traditional Caribbean style architecture of the Island. All rooms have large, cool screened verandas offering uninterrupted views of the beach and neighbouring island of St Kitts. The three room classifications are Deluxe, Studio and Premier.
Deluxe: Situated 40-60 feet from the beach, the Deluxe rooms are fully equipped with all the amenities you can expect from a four star hotel. These include air-conditioning, fridge/mini bar, iron and board, hairdryer, shower, alarm clock/radio, cable TV, coffee maker and electronic safe. These rooms offer a choice of either one queen sized mahogany four poster bed or two double beds.
Studio: There are only three of these rooms at Oualie. They are equipped similarly to the Deluxe rooms with the exception that they have full kitchen facilities and all have one mahogany queen sized four-poster bed. The studios all have doors that can connect to adjacent Deluxe rooms to form suites that are ideal for families.
Premier: These spacious rooms are larger than the Deluxe rooms and are luxuriously appointed with all mahogany furniture including a king-sized four-poster bed. The rooms have the same amenities as available in the Deluxe rooms but also have a VCR. The huge bathrooms have a "his and her's " double sink granite vanity and shower.
Oualie Beach Resort Hotel, Dining
The beachside restaurant, with award winning Chef Jason Bishop, serves Caribbean and continental cuisine at reasonable prices. Children are very welcome at Oualie and a children's menu is available. Live entertainment is featured two or more evenings a week. The bar area is very relaxed and serves as a casual watering hole for guests and residents of the Island.
The Oualie Beach Hotel has one of the best, if not the best chef on Nevis. Chef Jason Bishop, is constantly improving on the already wonderful menu. With the daily fresh vegetables, and the bounty from the sea, that he has at his disposal, it would be unfair to say that he can take all the claim. Whether you are looking for a light snack or a full blown West Indian buffet, Oualie Beach is the right choice. It is so popular in fact, that many of your fellow diners will actually be guests from the other hotels on Nevis!
Oualie Beach Resort Hotel, Activities
While many of our guests enjoy doing nothing more than stretching out on our beach, with a cool drink, a good book, and the cool breezes, there are also a lot of other activities to partake in. One of the reasons our guests return over and over again is because we offer so much to do without having to go anywhere.
spa Treatments - The Oualie Spa, located at the Resort, offers a relaxing selection of facials, massages and body treatments utilizing natural products of the Island. The Spa also offers the ancient Tibetan healing technique of REIKE.
Mountain Bikes - The fitness freaks on the Island hang out at the bike shop at Oualie Beach Resort where Winston Crooke and "Reggie" plot grueling triathalon courses (swim, bike, run) for the massochists among us!
Rain Forest Hikes - There are several experienced tour guides on the island that can take you where you want to go. While some places are accessible on your own, we recommend that you go with a tour guide into the mountain to visit Nevis Peak or climb on other trails. Not only will this insure your safety, but it will make the trip more meaningful as you learn about the flora, fauna and history from the experts. One poor fellow went up by himself and was stuck there for 8 days!
Horse Back Riding - This is one of the few places left where you can still ride horses on the beach in some areas. Our guests use the nearby Nevis Equestrian Center. Have our reservation staff book you a ride now before that also gets regulated!
Save time, money and stress! For reservations: Fill out the vacation planner to be contacted by our Navis Vacation specialist.
