Amanyara Resort Turks and Caicos Islands Luxury Vacations and Honeymoon Travel Packages

The work of nature is observed from a place of theatrical appeal in an elegant and recherché build. Nestled in low-lying tropical foliage, Amanyara is serenaded by the sweet melodies of contented coastal songbirds. Aside endless pearly soft beaches, near rugged iron-shore outcrops, it faces some of the most revered reef walls and dive sites in the world.
Using mainly timber and glass, under low rooflines, it bows with graceful tropical modernity to its earthbound mistress. Sliding glass windows surround the 40 timber-shingle pavilions, retracting on three sides creating a liberating sense of ‘oneness’ with the coast.
Providenciales lies just within the Atlantic Ocean, beside the Caribbean Sea, overshadowed for years by its celebrated neighbours resulting, fortuitously, in an untainted and refreshingly unaltered coast and hinterland. Nature’s aesthetes, diving enthusiasts, lovers of tennis, golf, fishing and sailing, gentle beach strollers, and passive admirers, can all relish in the rich pickings that both Nature and Amanyara can offer in harmonious abundance.
Amanyara villas
The entrance to Amanyara is by way of a striking and spacious reception pavilion, which opens onto an alluring pond, reflecting the elements in its tranquil presence; the theme of water and serenity is echoed soothingly throughout the resort. There are 40 identical timber and shingle pavilions made largely from glass and wood to maximise the impact of its liberating location.
The ash-hued low lying roof lines complement the semi-tropical low lying silvery-sage vegetation; Pond Pavilions benefit from their tranquil ‘ponds’ with timber sundecks, Ocean Pavilions are elevated 15-20ft above the shoreline with pathways leading to the striated iron-shore outcrops. The entrance to each Pavilion is through a terrace, equipped with two inviting daybeds, inside, the palette of cool taupe, cream and beige, is interspersed with a touch of Atlantic blue and pristine king-size beds are raised neatly on wooden platforms. The slatted shutters, retractable three sided windows and two additional wooden terraces: the first with twin banquettes for lounging, and the second with a sunken table for romantic alfresco dining complete with sunning mats alongside for those lingering siestas, allows for complete co-existence with the great outdoors. The aromatic blend of ocean air, thick vegetation, and exposed timber, creates an air of blissful retreat, a relaxing and therapeutic diversion from the world at large.

Many also have an internal pond. Bedroom Pavilions are similar to those of the resort with a slightly larger bathroom and dressing area, with some featuring outdoor bath tubs and showers. Some villas have an additional bedroom suitable for up to four children and a nanny. Each villa features a large living and dining pavilion, an outdoor dining sala, a fully outfitted kitchen with a personal cook and two bedrooms for private staff who are available to take care of all guests’ needs. Amanyara Resort Dining
Cuisine
The Restaurant provides a choice of dining settings. The interior of the room is divided into two areas, the first open to the breeze and the second air-conditioned. The open setting steps down onto a terrace with outdoor seating scattered beneath two large trees. Both areas have sweeping views to the beach and beyond to the ocean. The second area can be closed to provide air-conditioned dining in the hotter months and also opens to an outdoor balcony that enjoys views across the central pond to the landscape and buildings of the public areas. The cuisine on offer provides a selection of Asian and Mediterranean fare with an emphasis on local seafood.
Bar
Beyond the Restaurant, and leading to the swimming pool, is the Bar. The structure is circular in design and features a soaring internal ceiling. It includes a central service bar with its unique feature being the number of oversized lounging day beds on the perimeter of the bar. Leading from the bar is a spacious terrace that provides informal dining seating and more large lounging beds. Enjoy a cool drink and light lunch during the day, and as the sun sets, enjoy cocktails featuring exotic fruit or a selection of cigars and after dinner liquors, available until late in the evening.
The beach club
Located on a dune above the southern end of the sweeping white sand beach, the Beach Club provides an informal dining venue throughout the day. A choice in seating is available from the elevated interior, to the bar front, or the lower terrace that leads to an expansive timber deck. Beyond is a grassed courtyard with sun loungers and the Dive Centre at Amanyara. The food style is simple, with grills, sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit, juices and shakes. The Beach Club offers an intimate and informal area for beach barbeques in the evenings.
Amanyara Resort Activities
Diving
Providenciales is cited by dive experts as offering some of the world's best diving because of a barrier reef that runs the full length of the island’s 27km north-east coast.
The fully equipped Dive Pavilion at Amanyara is operated by Ocean Vibes. Their professional team of dive masters and instructors offer a range of dive courses from introduction to scuba diving, through to advanced and specialty courses.
Located directly in front of the resort, approximately 500m from the beach, are the remarkable coral reef walls of the Northwest Point Marine National Park. An eight kilometre long fringing reef system that runs parallel to the coastline, it is dominated by Boulder Star coral, Elkhorn coral and gorgonians of various species that are home to schooling fish, turtles, spotted eagle rays and much more. The reef supports a characteristic fish population that includes groupers, snappers, surgeonfish, butterfly fish, angelfish and jacks. A number of shark species including the scalloped hammerhead, reef shark and lemon shark have been sighted. An aggregation spawning site for the Nassau grouper has also been recorded, providing a critical area for the survival of this endangered fish. Also seen in this area are bottlenose dolphins and spotted dolphins. Humpback whales pass through during during their winter migration.
All dive sites in Northwest Point Marine National Park are, weather permitting, three to eight minutes’ boat ride from Amanyara’s beach. In slightly rougher water conditions, guests will be driven to a south side dock approximately 40 minutes away to board the dive boat. Alternative dive sites include West Caicos, Frech Cay and Sandbore Channel.
Snorkelling Snorkelling can be enjoyed just off the beach at Amanyara. The sandy bottom declines gradually until the reef wall falls away dramatically with its sheer vertical drop to 2,100m. Rock formations surrounding the resort are home to many small fish even in the shallow waters. Snorkelling equipment is available with tuition for novices. A complimentary snorkelling trip departs daily from the beach (weather permitting).
Beach Steps from Amanyara's entrance pavilion is Malcolm's Beach. One of the island's most secluded beaches, its soft sand stretches 1,000m. Amanyara's Beach Club and Dive Pavillion provides services throughout the day.
Snorkelling can be enjoyed just offshore and a complimentary snorkelling trip departs daily from the beach (weather permitting). A variety of equipment is available including snorkelling equipment, Hobie cats, boogie boards and ocean kayaks.
The breeze generally originates from the south-east from May to September, giving the beach an excellent setting for sailing and water sports. From October through April, stronger breezes prevail from the north-east, bringing cooler temperatures and occasional waves.
Dive sites in Northwest Point Marine National Park are, weather permitting, three to eight minutes boat ride from the beach.
Tennis There are also two floodlit Har-tru clay tennis courts. Tennis racquets, balls and shoes are provided and lessons or hitting partners are available.
Internet Wireless broadband connections are available in all resort accommodations and the Library.
