Pine Cay, home of The Meridian Club, is a secluded 800 acre island conveniently located just 560 miles southeast of Miami. It offers two miles of talcum powder beach and is graced year-round by soothing trade winds, comfortable temperatures and low humidity.
The Meridian Club is an environmentally sensitive resort, ideal for those seeking an unspoiled retreat. There are only 12 rooms and the Sand Dollar Cottage set among undisturbed stretches of sand dunes, sea oats and sea grapes. In addition, privately owned cottages dot the island, several of which are available for rent.
The Meridian Club on Pine Cay is well known for excellent cuisine, attentive staff, and elegant "barefoot beach" getaways. Cottages are tucked along the shoreline and dunes, each with a romantic view of the ocean. The Clubhouse holds the restaurant, bar, and guest lounge, and overlooks a shimmering pool with the Caribbean Sea beyond.
Guests enjoy many island activities - swimming, biking, sailing, shelling, snorkeling, tennis, swimming in the fresh water pool and relaxing by the beach. The staff can arrange exceptional bone-fishing and deep-sea fishing, as well as excursions to nearby Turks & Caicos islands. Come and discover this "home away from home" for yourself.

The Meridian Club on Pine Cay Dining
Days begin for early risers with sunrise coffee and freshly baked pastries set out on the open-air dining terrace. English breakfasts soon follow with freshly squeezed juices and such club favorites as lobster omelets, buttered red snapper and grits and coconut waffles. (If you prefer, breakfast can be delivered to your room.) Lunch is a light buffet of Pine Cay specialties and is followed in mid afternoon by traditional tea.
Dinner by candlelight in the open-air, poolside dining room features fresh catches from the sea. Desserts range from Pine Cay lime pie to chocolate terrine with raspberry sauce. After-dinner drinks, coffee and tea are served upstairs in the lounge, a perfect place for watching the stars and recounting the activities of the day.
The Island Since there are no automobiles, television, radios and ringing telephones at the Meridian Club, you are left to enjoy the

island's abundant natural pleasures. Surrounding waters (which average a pleasant 75-80 degrees) teem with friendly fish and varied marine life. Underwater visibility exceeds 100 feet and there are miles of coral within easy reach. Ashore, Pine Cay is covered with palmettos and pines and has seven freshwater ponds. Tropical birds, lizards and iguanas share the largely untouched island.
Some say that Columbus refilled his water pots from Pine Cay's freshwater ponds during his quest for the New World. In the centuries that followed, countless mariners and marauders no doubt did the same. Yet despite Pine Cay's location on an ancient, much-navigated trade route, its only permanent settlement seems to have been an Arawak Indian village dated at around 800 A.D. Then, in the late 1960s, a scholar-turned-dreamer set out to create an island escape, which eventually became The Meridian Club. Today, the Club is owned by Pine Cay's homeowners -- a small group of individuals dedicated to preserving the island in its undisturbed state.
