Itinerary
Day 1: San Jose / Tortuguero
Depart to the tropical Caribbean lowlands of Tortuguero. Stop to watch for waterfalls, flowers, and giant umbrella leaves on the roadside as you pass by Brauilio Carrillo National Park. Travel by boat the last 2 hours of your journey, with sights set on spotting turtles, birds and other wildlife. Arrive at your lodge for lunch and a guided beach walk to the village. Mawamba (L,D)
Day 2: Tortuguero Rainforest
Your day revolves around nature as you spend it exploring this primitive, isolated area, a vital hatching ground for green sea turtles and habitat for rare jaguar, tapir, manatee, and great green macaw. Go boating on the canals and walking with a guide to admire the flora and fauna. Mawamba (B,L,D)
Day 3: Tortuguero / San Jose
After breakfast, fly to San Jose and transfer to your hotel. (B)
