Itinerary
Day 1: Managua / Ometepe Island
Getting to Ometepe is half the fun, as you transfer to San Jorge and board the ferry, then cruise on Lake Nicaragua to Moyogalpa, set between two fiery peaks covered in tropical rain and cloud forest. Transfer in a 4x4 vehicle to your cabana, overlooking Santo Domingo Beach on the isthmus between the two volcanoes. Villa Paraiso (L,D)
Day 2: Ometepe Island
Trace the history, legends, and stunning nature of Ometepe Island on today’s 4x4 vehicle tour. Indigenous cultures have lived here for 3,500 years, and the island is strewn with petroglyphs and archaeological sites. Its stunning nature offer great climbing and hiking, in a tropical dry forest at the active Conception Volcano, and a cloud forest and summit lagoon at the extinct Maderas Volcano. Day 3: Ometepe Island / Managua
Depart the green island and retrace your way back to Managua. (B)
