As I look out the window at 15" of snow (and still falling), I long to be back in Costa Rica.

Every aspect of the trip was exceptional. Every detail was perfectly executed. The hotels were outstanding, as was the food. We took advantage of almost every activity offered, including the zip line, which was great fun.

The Arenal Kioro was especially wonderful, with a hot tub in every suite. The restaurant at Sapo Dorado, in Monteverde, was the best food we had anywhere in Costa Rica. The Four Seasons at Peninsula Papagayo really knows how to pamper its guests. The people were wonderful, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable everywhere we went.

We learned a lot about the country. There was never a need to change dollars to colones - every place accepted American dollars.

Bonus - We met so many wonderful fellow travelers, including Joan and Jack, from San Francisco. The 4 of us spent a wonderful day together on a 46 foot catamaran, snorkeling, talking and laughing.

We spoke about traveling together, perhaps to Egypt and Jordan (not Syria), like Marsha Gerber and Susan Smith's trip.

We will certainly keep in touch, and thank you for planning our wonderful vacation.

Las Terrrazas was also great. missed that they didn't have a jaquizzi but son met a super cute girl and they ended up in one a few resorts down the way. I was jealous.
Food was great at Elvie's, Jambrels, Mambo's at Matachica, and my friends resort at Capricorn. Went running on the beach one day, next time we will dive the Blue Hole.

We had a fantastic time, Costa Rica was amazing. We LOVED the Parador and it was great to see the contrast between Manuel Antonio and Tamarindo. The only small issue we had was that our night canopy tour in Manuel Antonio was cancelled due to weather. We were notified by the rep from Destination Costa Rica and she said she would contact you about a refund. Have you heard from anyone about this? I'm not sure if it helps, but I still have the voucher. The tour was scheduled for Wed 9/23.

Everything else was great and went perfectly. We can't wait to get back to Costa Rica!

Hey Sharon,

We had a really nice time. The weather wasn't ideal, and we knew it
would be HOT when we got there --- but the pools were beautiful and
refreshing....
We had the place virtually to ourselves (nice for us & a teeny bit of
skinny dipping in the pool....(not caught that we know of...) :-) We
walked into the village one day to the local bar & had a drink & golf
carted one day to do the same... but otherwise we stayed in our villa &
rested & played cards & had a very relaxing time. The Villa was VERY
nice & roomy. Appointed with all the amenities appliance wise, but no
coffee or tea without ordering it from the kitchen. It would have been
nice to have coffee & tea at our leisure on the porch without having to
order it....
The food was EXCELLENT and the staff very friendly but not overly so
We enjoyed the guy at the bar,
he was really nice...
The people at the lobby counter were very nice & Robin let us use their
computer in the office (we were dealing on a condo! & their internet
wireless internet was having problems)

We had a resident lizard that we fed fruit to & he actually would sit in
front of us & beg like a dog....(after I fed him fruit for a couple
days) it was funny, but the staff shoo'd them away like cats..... so I
tried not to get caught feeding him.... He got pretty close but
wouldn't eat from my hand....

So All in All - a VERY nice trip.
We loved the small plane that picked us up at Belize City & landed 3
times getting to Placencia on airstrips that were 1 lane road narrow....
a bit scary but fun!
On the way home, he flew us from Placencia to Belize City & was using a
walkie talkie to communicate with the tower.....
So we really did use our time wisely to rest & catch up with each
other....

SO - There ya go!

Victoria House was also a dream, the beach view from our bedroom and bed was amazing! We scuba dived 4 day trips, with a total of 10 tanks of diving. We even dove the Blue Hole, it was all so beautiful and cool. The entire trip was amazing! We are extremely pleased with the entire honeymoon.

Hello Patricia,

Sorry for the slow response. Work has been so busy since our return. Belize was great! Once again you planned an incredible trip for us, at the perfect resort. Matachica was wonderful. The casitas were spacious and clean. Decor was simple and elegant but still had touches of tasteful Belizean decor. The bed was incredibly comfy. The restaurant there was amazing! They had great seafood as well as a few vegetarian options. The lobster was *delicious*! They also had an all day self serve coffee and tea service which was really nice. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

Other plus' were wireless internet, a great collection of dvd's and books to choose from, hottub and pool....a couple downsides were there were'nt any tv's in the room to watch the movies on (but we brought our laptop- so that worked out), and the resort itself was quite a ways from from San Pedro...almost at the northern tip of the island. Not that big of a deal- but when its raining at night and you are taking a water taxi from town to the resort- it can be a long 20 minute ride ;) The hotel also hooked us up with some amazing excursions.

Some highlights were- a trip the ruins of Lamanai on the mainland (get ready for a serious excursion tho! starting at 6:30 am), jungle ziplining, snorkeling at the Hol Chan Marine reserve, and just experiencing all the wonderful and exotic wildlife that live in Belize! Once again, we want to thank you for planning another wonderful trip. Hopefully we will be in touch soon for your help with a new adventure!

We had the best time in Belize...we absolutely loved Victoria House and Chaa Creek...the service at both hotels was truly incredible and the food was fabulous tther was great and everything worked out perfectly.

We did lots of adventurous stuff....including a fishing/bbq trip that was great. Our guide picked us up at 8:30..we fished until noon (4 of us caught about 10 or 12 fish...mostly red and yellowtail snapper) and then we docked the boat at the beach and BBQ'd the fish with onions, tomatoes and potatoes (D-LISH!)...then went snorkeling at Mexico Rocks (we had gone to Hol Chan the day before) and he brought us back to Victoria House at 3:00.

The other thing we did that we loved was taking bikes from Victoria House and biking up the northern part of the island to Mata Chica. We rode into town, went over the bridge and then cut over to the beach and rode up the beach about 5 miles and then back...it was spectacular. I would highly recommend it.

On the mainland, we went to Jaguar Paw, Barton Creek, Cahal Pech and Belize Zoo....did lots of stuff on the Chaa Creek property...birdwatching, hiking, canoed to San Ignacio, butterfly/ nature center. The staff was so friendly (especially the owner). This story starting that lodge is incredible!) and helpful, and the grounds were spectacular. They had serious flooding before we got there (we got so lucky - it stopped raining the day before we arrived and the weather was gorgeous!) and the roads were a total mess (many were closed)...it was comical.

I have been meaning to email you, there is always something I should be doing...

We all had a fabulous time in Costa Rica. The guides were great, no problems with any of the transportation, we enjoyed all of the activities. We especially liked our accommodations at both Arenal and Quepos. I liked the canopy tour so much I signed up to do it again the next day with a different group. I went with Betsey and some of my nieces and nephews. My husband and kids went ATVing twice. We were able to do all these things and even add on activities because the trip was structured perfectly. Often we had a relaxing afternoon.

My family (the 5 of us) used an online travel company a couple of years ago and when we got back we never heard from them. I filled out their questionnaire and that was that. I was surprised because we had spent a bunch of money. I eventually emailed the agent I had worked with and she was quick to try to re-establish a connection, but it was too late. Anyway I say all of this because we had a great experience with you and TravelWizard and would not hesitate to use you again. I'm glad to have found an agency like yours, it takes the pressure off of me when planning a trip.

Our stays at Chaa Creek and Chabul Mar were right on the dot. We had an adventure but were always perfectly physicaly comfortable while engaging in it.

Every plan, every transfer, was implemented perfectly like a pupeteer was behind the scenes and, our only worry was to enjoy ourselves, which we accomphed with no hassles. The amazing thing is not only did I deal initially with another on line company but with an agent who worked for my mother's friend. They seemed uninterested and had poor follow up.

We felt that Melanie was with us each step of the way. Every time a driver appeared at the precisely scheduled moment, we would look at each other and say,"MELANIE!." Not everyone can establish a relationship with people they never meet in person, some not even then, but Melanie keyed right into us and it worked out to be a memorable and completely enjoyable trip.

She told me she is checking out the resorts in Costa Rica so we are anxiously awaiting to see what she turns up. I look forward to calling on her the next time I travel and will recommend her to friends.

We had a ball and we felt like you were with us every step. Everything couldn't have gone more smoothly, every flight, every transfer, every plan, we'd look at each other and say "Melanie!".

Both Chaa Creek and Chabil were deluxe with fabulous service. For some reason I had this desire to go to an ecolodge and you couldn't have picked a more beautiful one,. a wooden balcony under the trees, with hammocks to just totally relax in.

We did some of the activites on site and went to the nearby ruins which were great. Alot of the people there were more adventurous; all day caving expeditions an hour away, and the "real ruins TIKAL" in Guatemala, where you spent the entire day in the boiling sun. We were glad to experience the rainforest, but Placencia was the greatest.

We went snorkeling,drove into town for most meals.The "restaurants" written up in Foders are really shacks on the beach, but the food was good and it is so different and fun. We had drinks after a hard day of snorkeling at the Turtle Inn which was heavenly, also dinner one night which was expensive, but beautiful surroundings. All in all we felt like we were away for a long time and were so relaxed.

Thank you so much for planning a unique and wonderful time for us that we will be talking and laughing about for the rest of our lives. We will look for opportunities to recommend you and will be back in touch ourselves next year.

Costa Rica is an absolutely beautiful country with such a variety of things to do and see.

Flights going and coming were a little challenging with delays but now a days when aren’t there delays?

All of our transfers throughout the trip were prompt and very good.

We enjoyed all the excursions - especially the canopy tour through the cloud forest – what a blast!! Due to the dry season and lack of rain the white water rafting wasn’t as good as I was hoping but it was fun and the guide was very good. The volcano and hot springs were very interesting.

Magic Mountain Hotel in Arenal was very nice. Just opened within the past year so it was very clean and staff was accommodating. Our room looked directly at the volcano which was nice. Food was also good. We did eat in La Fortuna a few miles away which was very good.

Trapp Family Lodge in Monteverde was ok and located almost in the cloud forest; it was kind of dark and cold. We only ate breakfast there which was very good and reasonably priced. We ate dinner in Santa Elena two nights at two different restaurants which were very good.

The Villas Sol Resort was disappointing. There are only two restaurants on the resort - one of them only serving dinner and you needed a reservation. We did eat there one night and it was ok. The main restaurant had a very limited selection for lunch and dinner. Breakfasts were good so we ate well then.

There are two pools – one small and one a decent size with a swim up bar which was nice. On the positive side the views and sunsets at Villa Sol were breath taking over looking the cove. The beach was very picturesque and clean – although the sand was very hot being that it is on the dark side. We did some snorkeling off the beach and saw some interesting fish.

We did venture to Coco beach for dinner one night which was good.

We would love to go back to Costa Rica some day to see more. Thanks for your help.

Hi Leslie,

The trip was great! We had so much fun in Arenal and Manual Antonio.
In Arenal, we did the hanging bridges, a jungle/volcano trek, and the
Tabacon hot springs. The breakfast at Arenal Lodge was great. Dean
and I stayed in a Chalet and they upgraded the rest of the family to a
Matrimonial Suite, which was bigger and had a full kitchen, but was
darker and didn't have a view of the volcano. I think that the
Chalet's are a much better accommodation, but the Matrimonial Suite
came in great as my mother-in-law brought tons of snacks to cook.

In Manuel Antonio, the Casita Eclipse was such a nice retreat. We
liked this hotel a lot and the breakfast was just as good. We mostly
just relaxed at the beach, did the zip-lining, snorkeling and
white-water rafting.

And the transfer buses were great. They were like new 20-people vans
for just the 9 of us and the kids loved having their own rows to
sprawl out in.

Thanks for the great trip help! I don't think it could've been
better, except if it were longer.

We had great friendly guides who were always on time and informative and our tours were also very fun. Our stays in Arenal and Guanacaste were perfect. Guanacaste especially! Our Villa Sol stay was phenomenal. The resort was gorgeous and the all inclusiveness was definitely a highlight of our honeymoon.

Again, we were overall satisfied with the trip and your company, but we would highly recommend taking the Hotel Belmar off of your list of hotels and perhaps not sending people to that region unless it is exactly the type of adventure region the client is looking for.

We appreciate your time and concern for our trip. We appreciate the prompt and professional services that you and Destination Costa Rica did and continue to provide us. We will keep that in mind for future travels.

Hi, We just got home at 4 this morning and are exhausted, but truly satisfied. The hotel was great, we went fishing, jet skiing, zip lining, canopy touring, and despite one of my kids picking up a bacteria, the trip was a great success. The Marriott was extremely efficient and comfortable and aimed to please, the beach was disappointing, but we found Punta Leona, which was delicious, and obviously enjoyed the Marriott pool, which was a gas. Found some good restaurants, George enjoyed the surfing at Jaco Beach, and again, everybody was very anxious to help us find our way. Thanks soooo much, Richard; it was just what we all needed, and we appreciate you putting the whole shebang together for us.

Congratulations on making our trip to Costa Rica just about perfect. You really did a bang up job and we were VERY pleased with the relaxation and level of service at Playa Conchal. We had not stayed at an all inclusive resort before and it was quite refreshing. There was plenty to do (my husband went horseback riding and I went scuba diving) or do nothing at all in luxurious surroundings.

Most impressive was the fact that every shuttle to take us anywhere showed up on time and even early. I find this amazing in a Latin country!! And, we did not have to share them with a bunch of yakking other people but were alone each time. This was probably luck but sure was nice.

The room at the volcano was fantastic in that the view of it was right there framed in your floor to ceiling window. Though it was cloudy most of the time we did see some spits of lava on New Year's Eve. Best was the raft trip where we saw the croccodile basking on the bank and the exhilarating zip line ride down the cables strapped into the harness 1000 ft above the rain forest. Suspect my husband is one of the few 70 year olds who has done that!

Anyway, we were most impressed with your work (did have to change the seats on the plane coming back- we were in the very last row! Horrors.) and particularly at the last minute. We are interested in travel to China and Africa and will certainly be callling you again. Thanks for making our trip so pleasant.

We had a GREAT time!! We all agreed that was our best vacation, with all the activities we were busy everyday. The condo in San Pedro was beautiful! They were brand new. We were surprised how expensive it was, the food was higher then Hawaii! We rented bikes on the island and rode to the other end by Captain Morgan's what a fun place. The snorkeling was awesome and the boys went diving one day and loved it. We even went to the croc show by the water tank ( did you see the local boys feeding wild crocs chicken?) Everything you had planned for us was great and the guides were so friendly and nice. We definitely want to go back! Where did you stay? The Chaa Creek was fun, the kids had a bat in their room flying around at night, we laughed about that for days!! At the time they weren't laughing though!!!! I just wanted to let you know that we had a great time! The whole trip went
without a glitch; the hotels, transfers, excursions and flights. The Arenal
Kioro was a great place to stay. The rooms were nicely done and the view to
die for. I do want to tell you that the food was not that good there. The
breakfasts were good, but we had dinner our first night and the food was
expensive and way, way overdone. Just letting you know for your information.
We had dinner in town the other evenings.

The Punta Islita Hotel was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. A
toss up between The Hotel Bora Bora.The service unmatched. The food was outstanding.
The wine list great! We have never spent so much time at our room. We really enjoyed the pool in our
backyard. You did a great job making our 25th wedding anniversary trip a
trip we will always remember.

We ended up extending our trip to Belize. Jeanine at Way to Go helped us
with that. We stayed at Journey's End. The accomodations were ok. I think
that they need to do some updating if they are considered a 4 star. The
grounds needed some attention and the pool area too. Especially if there
competition is Captain Morgan's.

We found a great place there to eat; Capricorn's. If you have clients that
want a small (3 bungalows) place to stay, I would suggest it. IT has a great
bar and the food is fabulous!
