We had a great time in Costa Rica and would definitely like to go back again sometime. The Riu hotel was great. The only complaint that we had about the hotel was that the bed was a little bit too firm for our liking, but outside of that we enjoyed everything. The food and drinks were good, and they have a beautiful pool area where we spent a lot of our time. There was free wireless Internet in the lobby, so we solved our issue of wanting to be able to check on our 9 month old by Skyping with him each night. We attempted to make a call back to the US but were told it was going to be about $27 for a 5 minute call, so we declined and Skyped the whole time instead. We went on a half day excursion that included an ATV ride and zip-lining tour through the rainforest. We had a great time and would definitely recommend that excursion to others. Not that it can be helped, but the roads from the airport to the hotel were pretty bad, so it made for a pretty bumpy 45 minute ride. It was also shocking that the airport terminal was pretty much all outdoors, making it a pretty warm wait to board our flight back to Houston. Overall we had a great trip. I think we wished we would have stayed 5 nights instead of 4, but definitely enjoyed the time in Costa Rica. Let me know if you have any other questions about this resort for other customers. You are correct, we had an awesome time. We had 4 adults a 7, 8, 9 & 10 year old and not one second of drama. All were fun and easy going, so we knew it would be a fun week. Actually, we had 7, 8, 9 , 10 and 45 year old kids...Mark! He was like a kid on Christmas morning, all week. Stay in Costa Rica is a great way to do the villa. They handle it all. There is a person available to call at the office 24-7. They confirmed each excursion, the night before. We are all easy and really didn't heed anything from them, but it's a comfort to know they are only a phone call away. Not sure if the rental car went through them or not but that was also trouble free.
I always do the cooking. So after breakfast on Sunday Mark started doing the dishes while the women made the beds and threw the towels in the washer. Once that was all complete, the cleaning ladies showed up! We had know idea that was part of the villa package. So needless to say, they were off the hook for the week, but Paul still did the cooking. And quite well I might add!!!!!
The chef did do a good job. Not awesome, but good. Some of the stuff was pre made or frozen, but it was all good. The kids are a little fussy so it was kind of a shame. There were leftover shrimp, which I enjoyed at 7am on Saturday for breakfast. I washed them down with several cervesa (I'm sure that's miss spelled!)before we headed off to the airport at 8am. :-(
I would recommend this highly for a family vacation. (Disney is not my bag!!!!!!!!!)

The trip was great!! All accommodations were outstanding especially Ka'ana- I have stayed at a lot of places but I have never had service like we had there. Victoria house was nice also- the only thing that I was disappointed in was the way the room was set up- I though both bedrooms were going to be the same- but the master suite was upstairs which was very nice but the bedroom downstairs was very small- It all worked out fine- All the tours were great and the guides were wonderful- I really cannot wait to go back- We really did not have a full agenda which was wonderful because that really gave us time to relax and enjoy- Thanks so much for a wonderful trip - you did a great job not one problem with the travel arrangements - everything went really smooth!!!!! Thank you for setting up another adventure for us. Le Meridian: hotel was excellent and service was great, it is centrally located and walking distance to good restaurants, they made reservation at two great restaurants for us for the two nights we were there. Gamboa: great rainforest location, nice pool, nice canopy tour and walking trails.Would not return to this hotel. Bristol : this is a first class resort like no other, amazing food, exceptional service, great pools specially the one near the ocean with beautiful cabanas. We loved this resort and will go back. My wife got sick on our first night there, they had a doctor at the resort who came to our room to visit her and then drove to a Pharmacy to bring back five different medicines and gave her an injection all for $135.00 and with a smile the whole time and because of this service she got well in 24 hours and we moved on with our vacation. I can't say enough about this place, I don’t think anyone will return unhappy from this resort. Our rental car was good and we drove quite a bit, visited very nice villages. Nicest village was Anton Valley (we are planning to go there next time) and I recommend you to take look at this, people who enjoy nature would love this area. Our guide was also good, he picked us up from the airport, dropped at the hotel, the next day gave us a half day tour of the Panama canal and around the town then on Monday drove us to the car rental place. I can't even begin to tell you how much we enjoyed our vacation to Costa Rica. Most of that wonderful experience comes from staying at the GAIA. It was absolutely amazing. The hotel has 20 rooms, is very quaint with wonderful service and a equally good restaurant. The restaurant had wonderful food, a great view of the ocean/sunset, and live music every evening. We were able to get to know 2 of the 3 owners during our stay and were impressed with their vision and service. I heard my husband telling his father (who travels extensively) the other night that our vacation "was a 10 staying at the GAIA". I'm not sure either of us had very high expectations for this vacation (perhaps because we made the decision very quickly), but the GAIA is by far the nicest place we have ever stayed (including a very nice Resort is Kauai, HI, and our travels in Europe). While there we utilized their concierge service (which was also great). They arranged a fishing trip for us. Although this was not inexpensive, it was by far the highlight (besides GAIA) of our trip. We caught 4 sail fish and had a great time. I appreciate your help and will be calling you in the future. We definitely want to repeat the Shook's trip to Alaska with our children some day. Had a wonderful time for 8 days at Robert's Grove. Weather was an average of 82 with some overcast skies. We came home to winter wonderland with 4" on the ground and yesterday we had 13". By this weekend we are going to be in the 60's. Oh well, as they say in Oklahoma wait 10 minutes and the weather will change. Anyway, we had a great time in Belize. Went snorkeling at the "Laughing Bird Caye". Visited some Mayan Ruins (these guys were way ahead of their time, smart cookies). Took a boat on the Monkey River and saw some howling monkeys. Also, went to a Jaguar Preserve (didn't see any but saw a lot of other creatures) and finally went tubing down the Stan Creek River. Food was great, hospitality was awesome and the resort was beautiful. Thanks for your assistance. If you would like some pictures, let me know and I will send you some. By the way, we are thinking about Key West. Do you have any packages?

The stay at Duplooys was excellent. The food was great, we could hear all the little critters and birds at night through the screens. What a soothing sound. We went to Xunantunich on horseback, and went cave tubing and zip lining. Our guide for the horse ride was Emil - he was only 19 but enthusiastic, well spoken, and very good. Our guide for the cave tubing and our trip back to the airport was a biologist/ornithologist named Fermin. If you ever send anyone there again, ask for him. He is incredibly knowledgeable. At arrival, they forgot to tell housekeeping to prepare the futon bed in the boy's cabin, but they let one of the boys sleep in an empty cabin that night for no extra fee, so all worked out. As for Las Terrazas, the people were great, the rooms were beautiful, but I forgot to tell you that when I travel south in the winter I like the fresh air. I don't like air conditioning except in stifling heat, and if I am on the beach I like to hear the ocean and feel the night breeze. The first room they put us in had a window in the master bedroom that did not open - I mean it was not built to open. I asked for a room change, and they moved us to a very beautiful 3 bedroom suite. They asked us not to use one of the room for price parity, which was fine. However, the apt was right behind the kitchen and right beside the water filtration plant, so instead of lovely ocean sounds we had kitchen exhaust fan noice and sewage plant engine noise all night long. After the first night I dosed myself with nyquil so I could sleep. What a shame to build such a beautiful apt so close to such nasty noises. We enjoyed our stay anyway, and as I said the people were nice and accomodating, but in capital letters in my file for future reference note that I love nature and hate air conditioning. I would rather have had a little less room beauty and much better night ocean sounds and breeze. I guess for clients who sleep in air conditioning this would be a wonderful place. I trust Jim will connect with you, but I wanted to say what fun it was to meet you. A special treat in the middle of many wonderful moments. The staff at Las Terrazas were amazingly kind and helpful. We had our last two dinners in San Pedro at Elvi's...so fun. The chef and staff at the condo were wonderful but we wanted to explore a little. We biked on the beach the day before we left and went up to Portofino...heavy going in the sand but a good workout after a few too many rum drinks the day before! Met some nice folks the last two days...we all got stranded at the airport when leaving, the flight to Miami was cancelled for 'mechancial trouble'..... but American Airlines made a good connection for us through Dallas to Newark. We had a great time! We are finally resting! Flight was delayed 2 1/2 hours out of Miami and didn't hit the pillow until after 3am Friday morning. WE both had to go to work Friday...UGH! Took a big old nap and ready for our next vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything was truly incredible! Any things we didn't like were VERY minor, and we really wouldn't change a thing. Flights to Belize were great. The helicopter ride was unbelievable, but we hit a bit of rain and couldn't see the biggest waterfall. The Ka'ana staff was great. The restaurant staff said "excuse me" way too many times, and seemed a bit nervous around us. What the heck did you tell them about me? Friday we did the Tikal tour with Wilbert. He remembered you and said hello. The tour guide we picked up in Guatemala near Tikal was unbelievable. His knowledge of Tikal and the Mayan people and culture was great. He could have been a University Professor on the topic. The three of us had a truly memorable day at Tikal. Other than getting yelled at by a Belize border guard for drinking Guatemalan beer while coming through customs, the crossing were pretty easy. Saturday we slept in and it rained all day. Our plan was to use the resort pool, get massages and just chill, but the rain kept us in the room. Being on Honeymoon we managed to keep ourselves busy! That night we had our special dinner in the "wine cellar" because of the rain. It was unbelievable! The curry lobster as you recommended was delicious! The flute player was unique and great as well. Sunday we headed out and hit the zoo on the way to the airport. The zoo was really cool. Jr., the jaguar couldn't be fed that day but the zoo was really neat. Than we got dropped off at a 5th (not 3rd) world airstrip. Janet cursed me and you several times at that point, and mutter something about, "What are you getting me in to?". Similar to her comments immediately prior to boarding the helicopter! The flight was uneventful and we were the only two passengers on the plane. Our chauffeured golf court awaited us in San Pedro. Victoria House was beautiful and your recommendation of staying where there was a little most to do was a good one. We were a little nervous about weather after Ka'ana, but the weather at San Pedro was PERFECT the entire time. We were very content to just hang out at the pool outside our room the whole time. Tuesday we took the sailboat trip. It was great. Janet chickened out on snorkeling, but made full use of that hour working on her tan! Than the Captain cooked up an unbelievable meal of fish, lobster and chicken on a grill mounted on his boat! Wednesday afternoon we rented a golf cart and went into town and did a little shopping and threw a few back at Wild Mango's. Also, on Monday night we went into town and had a great meal at Red Ginger. I had fresh seafood for every course! Victoria House was great. The resort was awesome. The wait staff was a little lax, for lack of a better word, compared to other places you've sent us, but by that I mean a 9 instead of a 12 on the scale of 1 to 10, as you have made us accustomed to, and spoiled us with. The flight back to Belize City was a little unnerving to say the least! The plane was FULLY loaded and I don't think we got more the 200 feet over the water the whole time. HOLY CRAP! The flight out of Belize City to Miami was one of our best ever! We were two of only three in first class! We had a 45 and a 65 year old Steward that were both the most gay, and most funny people we had ever had the pleasure to fly with. They had us laughing so hard we cried for nearly the whole flight. The one guy made a comment about a gay guy that married a straight woman just so he could double his wardrobe! I think Janet and I peed ourselves at that point. Than as always, the connection to PHL SUX! Everything was memorable Sharon! THANK YOU! I will email you some pics over the next couple days! This afternoon we had on the travel channel and the show was "Islands for Rent." They had a spot on the private island off San Pedro that we first talked about. We had the most amazing trip (to the Four Seasons Papagayo in Costa Rica)....it was fantastic!!!! Must do the zip line, snorkeling, got the beach club (bring boogie boards from our beach), we did spa, golf, and river boat through national park...I would skip park and do alterrain day!!! The food was good...loved Sushi bar, Italian and golf club....great breakfast too!!!

Belize was terrific...Thanks for taking care of us...The Phoenix was just what we were hoping for...Huge deluxe beachfront condo unit with a full kitchen in the center of things...Peaceful and gorgeous on the one side and in the heart of downtown on the other...We loved the Red Ginger restaurant, spa and yoga classes offered on-site and the front desk kindly and competently booked most of our excursions for us...We went cave tubing, zip lining, snorkeling and jet skiing with the kids, and Scott and I went on a romantic sunset sail one night on a catamaran...We enjoyed sampling all the different Central American foods and explore the island by foot and golf cart...The people are so warm and friendly...Danny, our 15 year old, bought a basketball at the hardware store and made lots of friends that way...Fun, fun, fun! Not sure about the rest of the year yet...I guess the next time we'd think about going somewhere would be in December, after Christmas...It's exciting to expose the kids (and ourselves) to different cultures and lifestyles...What would you suggest, keeping in mind our need for the kitchen wherever we go? Just wanted to let you know that we had a great trip to The guided walk through Manuel Antonio was very good…saw lots of wildlife including monkeys, sloths, raccoons, toucans and others that I can’t remember the names of. We were a bit disappointed in the sn I would recommend the Holiday Inn Express. We stayed there one night and it was really nice. We had a big room with 2 queen beds, plush bedding, and a nice big bathroom. They have a nice pool and a continental breakfast with lots of fresh fruit. And the best part was they allow FREE international calls, so we were able to touch base with everyone at home. They also had free internet with several computers available to guests. As I look out the window at 15" of snow (and still falling), I long to be back in Every aspect of the trip was exceptional. Every detail was perfectly executed. The hotels were outstanding, as was the food. We took advantage of almost every activity offered, including the zip line, which was great fun. Other plus' were wireless internet, a great collection of dvd's and books to choose from, hottub and pool....a couple downsides were there were'nt any tv's in the room to watch the movies on (but we brought our laptop- so that worked out), and the resort itself was quite a ways from from San Pedro...almost at the northern tip of the island. Not that big of a deal- but when its raining at night and you are taking a water taxi from town to the resort- it can be a long 20 minute ride ;) The hotel also hooked us up with some amazing excursions. Some highlights were- a trip the ruins of Lamanai on the mainland (get ready for a serious excursion tho! starting at 6:30 am), jungle ziplining, snorkeling at the Hol Chan Marine reserve, and just experiencing all the wonderful and exotic wildlife that live in Belize! Our guide picked us up at 8:30..we fished until noon (4 of us caught about 10 or 12 fish...mostly red and yellowtail snapper) and then we docked the boat at the beach and BBQ'd the fish with onions, tomatoes and potatoes (D-LISH!)...then went snorkeling at Mexico Rocks (we had gone to Hol Chan the day before) and he brought us back to Victoria Ho The other thing we did that we loved was taking bikes from Victoria Ho On the mainland, we went to Jaguar Paw, Barton Creek, Cahal Pech and Belize Zoo....did lots of stuff on the Chaa Creek property...birdwatching, hiking, canoed to San Ignacio, butterfly/ nature center. The staff was so friendly (especially the owner). This story starting that lodge is incredible!) and helpful, and the grounds were spectacular. They had serious flooding before we got there (we got so lucky - it stopped raining the day before we arrived and the weather was gorgeous!) and the roads were a total mess (many were closed)...it was comical. I have been meaning to email you, there is always something I should be doing...
We all had a fabulous time in Costa Rica. The guides were great, no problems with any of the transportation, we enjoyed all of the activities. We especially liked our accommodations at both Arenal and Quepos. I liked the canopy tour so much I signed up to do it again the next day with a different group. I went with Betsey and some of my nieces and nephews. My husband and kids went ATVing twice. We were able to do all these things and even add on activities because the trip was structured perfectly. Often we had a relaxing afternoon.
My family (the 5 of us) used an online travel company a couple of years ago and when we got back we never heard from them. I filled out their questionnaire and that was that. I was surprised because we had spent a bunch of money. I eventually emailed the agent I had worked with and she was quick to try to re-establish a connection, but it was too late. Anyway I say all of this because we had a great experience with you and TravelWizard and would not hesitate to use you again. Dear Charles... just came back from my massage, Jerry is over there now getting his. So far, this has been such a great place, and I want to thank you so much for recommending it to us. The accomodations at Turtle Inn are sweet, and so is the staff. We did the complimentary breakfast (continental, but enough) and road bikes into town for lunch. Last night we went to the seafood restaurant here, tables on the beach, real nice. Tonight we'll either try their Italian restaurant, or take a taxi into town. Weather is great, pool and sea so warm, so relaxing....

For some reason I had this desire to go to an ecolodge and you couldn't have picked a more beautiful one,. a wooden balcony under the trees, with hammocks to just totally relax in. We did some of the activites on site and went to the nearby ruins which were great. Alot of the people there were more adventurous; all day caving expeditions an hour away, and the "real ruins We went snorkeling,drove into town for most meals.The "restaurants" written up in Foders are really shacks on the beach, but the food was good and it is so different and fun. We had drinks after a hard day of snorkeling at the Turtle Inn which was heavenly, also dinner one night which was expensive, but beautiful surroundings. All in all we felt like we were away for a long time and were so relaxed. Thank you so much for planning a unique and wonderful time for us that we will be talking and laughing about for the rest of our lives. Flights going and coming were a little challenging with delays but now a days when aren’t there delays? All of our transfers throughout the trip were prompt and very good. We enjoyed all the excursions - especially the canopy tour through the cloud forest – what a blast!! Due to the dry season and lack of rain the white water rafting wasn’t as good as I was hoping but it was fun and the guide was very good. The volcano and Magic Mountain Hotel in Arenal was very nice. Just opened within the past year so it was very clean and staff was accommodating. Our room looked directly at the volcano which was nice. Food was also good. We did eat in La Fortuna a few miles away which was very good. Trapp Family Lodge in Monteverde was ok and located almost in the cloud forest; it was kind of dark and cold. We only ate breakfast there which was very good and reasonably priced. We ate dinner in Santa Elena two nights at two different restaurants which were very good. The Villas Sol Resort was disappointing. There are only two restaurants on the resort - one of them only serving dinner and you needed a reservation. We did eat there one night and it was ok. The main restaurant had a very limited selection for lunch and dinner. Breakfasts were good so we ate well then. There are two pools – one small and one a decent size with a swim up bar which was nice. On the positive side the views and sunsets at Villa Sol were breath taking over looking the cove. The beach was very picturesque and clean – although the sand was very hot being that it is on the dark side. We did some snorkeling off the beach and saw some interesting fish. Hi Sharon, Our trip was GREAT! The hotels where all wonderful and different. I especially liked Capitan Suizo...I love the sun and the beach....I have a great tan! Peace Lodge and Tabacon where also lovely....hot springs the best! OH...the drivers were great and always on time....the roads in Great trip...thanks for all your help! Joyce Things went rather well for our vacation. I will say the kids were a bit taken back by the location of our first hotel . On the main road in a dusty and crowded little town that seemed to be populated by long haired hippy type baby boomers. They were fine as they began to appreciate the low key nature of the area and the ocean an the services available. With the exception of the transportation to the "canopy Tour" which was an hour or so late all was very smooth and the service providers were very agreeable to changes we requested. We thank you for your assistance in the planning of our vacation. We did have a great experience in Costa Rica and you can feel free to use us as a reference to your customers. I have attached a few photo's so that you can see that we did catch a few fish, a few waves and a lot of sunshine. We were even able to see the top of the volcano that had not been seen for twenty days prior to our arrival.

The hotel was great, we went fishing, jet skiing, zip lining, canopy touring, and despite one of my kids picking up a bacteria, the trip was a great success. The Marriott was extremely efficient and comfortable and aimed to please, the beach was disappointing, but we found Punta Leona, which was delicious, and obviously enjoyed the Marriott pool, which was a gas. Sorry for the late response. We absolutely LOVED Belize. We had an absolute great time. Thank you so much for all of your recommendations and work in helping us prepare. The Blue Tang Inn worked out very well - great customer service. Walking distance to everything. I would definitely recommend them to your future customers. The Ruins were great, the Belize Zoo was a blast, and it was just good to get away and relax! You really did a bang up job and we were VERY pleased with the relaxation and level of service at Playa Conchal. We had not stayed at an all inclusive resort before and it was quite refreshing. There was plenty to do (my husband went horseback riding and I went scuba diving) or do nothing at all in luxurious surroundings. Most impressive was the fact that every shuttle to take us anywhere showed up on time and even early. I find this amazing in a Latin country!! And, we did not have to share them with a bunch of yakking other people but were alone each time. This was probably luck but sure was nice. The room at the volcano was fantastic in that the view of it was right there framed in your floor to ceiling window. Though it was cloudy most of the time we did see some spits of lava on New Year's Eve. Best was the raft trip where we saw the croccodile basking on the bank and the exhilarating zip line ride down the cables strapped into the harness 1000 ft above the rain forest. Suspect my husband is one of the few 70 year olds who has done that! Anyway, we were most impressed with your work (did have to change the seats on the plane coming back- we were in the very last row! Horrors.) and particularly at the last minute.
