Luther's Wedding
Every year on the second weekend in June, there are wedding celebrations all over Wittenberg. However these are no ordinary matrimonial festivities, they're a toast to the wedding vows of Martin Luther and Katharina von Bora.
"Rhine in Flames"
The main highlight in Bingen is the annual "Rhine in Flames" firework spectacular, which lights up the night skies on both sides of the river and attracts large numbers of spectators to this picturesque setting in the Rhine Valley.
6-day cycle race
Every year this renowned 6-day cycle race attracts over 125,000 spectators to the AWD Dome in Bremen. Alongside spectacular races with top international cyclists there is a whole host of music and entertainment at the event.

Carnival
Carnival is the first thing that springs to mind when Germans think about Cologne, where it is celebrated in a particularly lavish and traditional fashion. Over five fun-packed days it's the Jecken (carnival jesters) that hold court at the carnival festivities.
Celle Stallion Parade
The stallion parade has brought the small medieval town of Celle a widespread reputation. On two weekends in September the Lower Saxony State Stud is the venue for THE equestrian spectacle in the Südheide area.
Cross-country mountain-biking championships
St. Wendel is the venue for the World Cyclo-Cross Championships, where pros from the world of cross-country mountain biking quite literally take the rough with the smooth, tackling a treacherous course where in some places they even have to cycle over snow and ice.

Pied Piper musical Hamlyn
