7 Days Iceland With The Kids 8+ Adventure Tour Package
Duration: 7 Days / 6 Nights Priced From: $7,695 pp dbl. occ. Dates: Jul, Aug Start/Finish: Reykjavik / Reykjavik

Some of our guides have described Iceland as a cross between New Zealand and Patagonia – but close by. We can’t disagree: it does boast the best of the former’s pristine nature, along with the remote, wild beauty of the latter. Combine that with its easy accessibility and you’ve got the ideal family destination. The only thing we don’t understand is why we’re the only active travel company here. Yet.
If kids need some convincing (apart from being the first of their friends to go to Iceland), tell them they’ll hike through waterfalls and glacial landscapes, ride in an amphibious bus, climb a glacier, soak in geothermal pools, hunt for Viking treasure, explore lava caves, go horseback riding, catch fish for mom and dad’s lunch and pilot Super Jeeps across a black volcanic beach. Any more questions?
Trip Highlights
• Kayak among the 2,700-odd islands, all teeming with birds, that make up the Breidafjord
• Fly to the Vestmann Islands to spot gannets, guillemots, storm petrels and puffins
• Hike to a natural pool tucked into the side of a mountain for a swim under the midnight sun
• Dine on the island nation’s fresh seafood, lamb and decadent desserts (the local delicacy of putrified shark is strictly optional)
• Watch your kids try out the local sport of “spranging”—or join in yourselves
