A marvelous princely estate of the 15th Century surrounded by a 10-acre private park, reaching the hilltop. The rooms and suites (162), all of different size and decor are located in two buildings and overlook either the lake or the gardens. The period furnishings are in the style of the Villa. There are three restaurants, The Verandah in the Main Building, with sliding glass windows overlooking the gardens where tie and jacket are required, the Grill in a more informal ambiance where in summer, dinners are served outdoors under a giant plane tree, and the Kisho where the best Japanese food is served.  There are many sports you can practice at Villa d'Este. The various facilities are the most modern and up-to-date you wish to find and instructors are available for every activity. An outdoor and one indoor pool are available together with 8 tennis courts, gym, squash court, sauna and turkish bath. The new SPA offers beauty and relaxation treatments. Open from March to November.
