The jewel of the Northern Islands, Qamea is an incredibly beautiful island of lush green hills and totally unspoiled white sandy beaches. A garden island in an azure sea, a golden arc of beach with coral gardens waiting offshore.
Qamea Beach Club is a small, intimate facility with just 11 oceanfront bures nestled among swaying palms and tropical greenery. A first class, casual, true Fijian style private island resort - tranquillity and brilliance personified.
The traditionally-styled bures are hand-crafted from native hardwoods and bamboo, and tastefully decorated with native tapa cloth and comfortable furniture. Bure features include vaulted ceilings, king-size beds, sitting areas, mini-bars, tea and coffee facilities, ceiling fans, and large verandahs with lounge chairs and hammocks.
There are more than 20 excellent-quality dive experiences for novice to expert within a short boat ride of the resort. The resort offers scuba courses through dive-master level and full equipment rental.
World-class dining, fine wines, lots of activities and outstanding service await you. Enjoy!
At Qamea we accommodate at any given time a maximum of 24 guests (12 years of age and older) in our 12 spacious beachfront bures (Fijian bungalows). We are the only resort on Qamea Island, set on 43 lush tropical acres of landscaped gardens, bushland, and jagged volcanic South Pacific mountains that soar behind the property. The resort fronts onto a private white sand beach of just under a mile in length, and is known as the most spectacular in Fiji's northern island group if not all of Fiji.
Qamea Beach Club Accommodations
Qamea's authentic thatched roof bures were designed and built in traditional Fijian style, with soaring 20 foot ceilings and hand polished local mahogany hardwood floors.
All are spacious with over 600 square feet, have air conditioning, fully stocked mini bars, tea and coffee making facilities, ceiling fans, comfortable beds, separate sitting area, and antique Fijian art collected by the owners from neighboring villages and islands. Our bures have large covered decks with comfortable furniture and hammock, and dramatic and unobstructed views of the ocean and sunsets.
HONEYMOON BURE
In addition to our eleven elegant beachfront bures, we also offer a split level 1,200 square foot honeymoon bure.
This is a stunning split-level bure built, as are all the other bures at Qamea, in the traditional Fijian style, with high woven bamboo ceilings and polished hardwood floors. The upper level is the bedroom, and two steps take you down to the lounge. Both rooms face the sea and have access to the large verandah by sliding glass doors.
The bure is raised six steps above the lawn, and is fully screened. The bedroom is appointed with a large bamboo king size bed, side tables with figured lamps, large wardrobe, vanity unit, lounge chair and decorative mosquito net over the bed. Throw cushions, mats and Fijian art add to the overall luxurious effect. The lounge has two divans, both of which can become beds when needed, an imported lounge suite, side tables, sideboard for minibar and tea/coffee making facilities and decorative table lamps and paintings. Both of the rooms are cooled by overhead fans and air conditioning and have an abundance of tropical potted plants.
The spacious covered deck has lounge chairs, a table and hammock. The bathroom has a large sunken shower, toilet and twin wash hand basins, all in large white tile, glass brick and white soft beige painted timber. There is a back entrance for an outside shower and easy access to the fresh water swimming pool.
This is a romantically ideal bure for honeymooners, but also because of its size, suitable for a family of three or four.
