 Amongst Taveuni Island's wild profusion of natural beauty, and tucked away on a gently sloping hill is Maravu Plantation Resort. Maravu is a 54 acre plantation resort with ten large bures facing the tropical sunsets. There are three honeymoon bures with private outdoor showers, sun deck and verandah and seven deluxe bures which can accommodate up to four persons. Amenities include a large tiled bathroom and a secluded verandah. All bures have a ceiling fan, minibar and tea and coffee making facilities. The bures are well appointed to ensure privacy. Room service, housekeeping and laundry service are available daily.
Maravu is a Fijian word meaning "calm and tranquil". For its guests Maravu takes on an additional meaning: lush tropical gardens, 12 metre swimming pool, hilltop sunset garden and panoramic views of Matei, Somosomo Straight and neighboring islands. Horse-back riding, croquet, tennis, mountain bikes, kayaks, motor yacht and plantation tours are all available for you to enjoy. A golf course is located at Soqulu, just a half-hour drive.
Maravu's Wananavu Restaurant prepares nouvelle Fijian cuisine, as well as international dishes, that will tempt your taste buds. The service and the selection of international wines is a delight to the most seasoned traveler. Pool-side dining takes on a new meaning under the Southern Cross, enhanced by the house band performing Fijian melodies around the kava bowl. All your favorite exotic cocktails are served in the bar and restaurant.
Adventure treks and island eco-tours are Maravu's specialty. Our tour desk can organize your day with trips to the International Dateline, Lavena Village, Des Voeux Peak, Wainibau and Bouma waterfalls. Maravu's Beverly Beach is just across the road and excellent for snorkeling. Prince Charles Beach is just a short walk from the resort. Some of the best dive spots in the world can be found a few minutes from the beach. Diving is arranged with independent professional operators.
