Matamanoa - just the sound conjures up images of a South Pacific island dream. This little volcanic cone juts out of the turquoise waters of this unspoiled area of the Mamanuca group. Clad with dense brush and trees and rimmed by white sand beaches and crystal coral reefs, this is an ideal place for an intimate and secluded resort. Your days will be filled with swimming in the sea or fresh water pool and spa, snorkeling, fishing or playing tennis. Take a mountain hike and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of the Mamanuca Islands, then relax with a tropical cocktail at the bar before dining on the international cuisine that is complemented by Fijian delicacies. Your evening will be filled with singing and dancing to the local band.
Hotel accommodations are air-conditioned, while bure accommodations are fan cooled. All accommodations have a queen-size bed and bures have an additional two single beds. Bathrobes, nightly turn down service, refrigerator, tea/coffee making facilities, mini-bar and private patio are available in all accommodations. 21 individual bures and 11 rooms.

Beachfront Bures
Twenty Beachfront Bures of traditional Fijian design with thatched roofs. Bures are cooled by overhead fans and louvre windows to catch the trade breezes from the ocean. All Bures consist of two rooms, ensuite bathroom and patio.
The bedroom has two queen beds with reading lights, luggage rack and double wardrobe with lots of shelves. The sitting room has two sofa beds, bar with fridge, tea and coffee facilities, reading lamp, clock/radio, coffee table, two upholstered chairs and floor to ceiling sliding glass doors opening on to the patio which has two cushioned beach lounges and two outdoor chairs. Both rooms have very high ceilings, which are covered in traditional Fijian Tapa and Magi Magi. The bathroom includes separate large shower, granite vanity with twin hand basins, hair dryer, bath robes, amenities and Italian tiles.

Thirteen air-conditioned Hotel Rooms all in a line, set amongst the resort's tropical gardens. Each room has a queen bed, reading lamps, large wardrobe, bar unit with sink and fridge, table and two chairs, luggage rack, tea/coffee facilities, clock/radio - outside there is a small patio area with outdoor table and chairs. The bathroom includes separate spacious shower, marbleised vanity with single hand basin, hair dryer, bath robes, amenities and Italian tiles.

 Our Restaurant features an ocean view from every table, dine inside or on the verandah overlooking the ocean or poolside under the stars.
Matamanoa Island Resort Meal Plan
Choice of anything on the menus - half or full board. Vegetarians are introduced to the Executive Chef on arrival who will design menus for the duration of your stay.
Matamanoa Island Resort Dinner
Matamanoa's Executive Chef takes pride in presenting his international menus plus selections of traditional Fijian fare - choose from the Table d'hote or A la Carté menus, both menus are changed nightly. BBQ seafood buffet on Saturday nights.
Our string band serenades each table nightly during dinner, singing your choice of song, or Fijian songs. After dinner, lots of fun with something different every night, Mr. Matamanoa contest, crab racing, broom dancing, kava ceremony are just some of the few.

From the Buffet - fruit juices, fresh tropical fruit plus canned fruits, assorted cereals, home baked fresh muffins and bread rolls, white or brown toast, honey, peanut butter, vegemite & preserves, tea/coffee.
Cooked to Order - Eggs, select from poached, scrambled, fried or boiled and served with your choice of bacon, ham, sausages, grilled tomato, hash browns - omelette of your choice, ham, tomato, cheese or onion - choose any combination.

Island Hopping Visit some of the other islands in the Mamanuca group. Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 10am - 3pm. FJ$78 per person, Lunch extra.
Shell Market & Pottery Island Trip Travel to the local village of Tavua where you can witness pottery being made as they did over 100 years ago, shop at the shell market for artifacts and shells. Monday & Thursday, FJ$38 per person.
Big Game Fishing The Dau Wai, a 7.6metre aluminium catamaran fitted with Penn International, Shimano, Okuma & Black Magic fishing equipment. Full day FJ$1050, half day FJ$700.
Yacht Cruise Sailing on the Seaspray, visit the island of Modriki, location of the Tom Hanks movie "Castaway". BBQ lunch & afternoon tea on board. Daily 11am - 3.45pm. FJ$125 per person all inclusive including alcoholic beverages.
Village Church Attend church service at our local village Tavua and hear the choir of the people. Sunday only. FJ$38 per person for boat transfer.
