Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in Paris, meet your guide and freshen up at the hotel before beginning your first day in the city. Your first stop will include a Gourmet Food Tour for lunch. Your tour will be guided by a culinary specialist who will take you through the neighbor-hood of St. Germain des Pres. You will visit two restaurants, two cafés, a teashop and three pastry shops. Learn general descriptions of French food as you sample mouth-watering cuisine. Your evening will include a Seine River cruise before you dine atop the Eiffel Tower.

Day 2

Today you will join a French Sommelier for an introductory French wine knowledge course and tasting. For lunch you will be treated to “Art de Vivre;” a new concept for a tasting lunch, which includes Champagne, four French wines, French cheese and a plate of charcuterie (meat), French bread and a gourmet fruit basket. After lunch a grand tasting will be set up for you and will include seven more French wines. This tasting is an advanced look into the French appellations and Terriors. Be-come an expert as you sip some of France’s most prestigious wines. Amusebouches (little bites of delight) will accompany your tasting.

Day 3

Your first-class rail transfer is perfect for site seeing en route to Bordeaux. Upon arrival, your guide will escort you to a wonderful wine lunch at “Le Café du Musee”. After lunch, you will tour the city of Bordeaux, which dates back to the 12th century. Saint Emilion will be your next stop for an exquisite Bordeaux wine tasting. We have set up a wine education class at one of St. Emilion’s most noted wineries. Conclude the day in wine country with dinner at one of Bordeaux’s magnificent cha-teaus.

Day 4

Today’s wine tasting begins at the Medoc Vineyard, located between Bordeaux and Pauillac. You will taste wines from the amazing villages of Moulis, Listrac, Margaux, and Pauillac. While visiting the famous Chateaux of Saint Julien, you will be treated to a scrumptious winery lunch set among the winery’s beautiful vineyards. En-joy more world-class wine tasting in the afternoon.

Day 5

Start your day off at 9 am as you travel to the wine region of the Garon River. You will tour the tiny city of Cadillac, where you will visit the 16th century castle of “Duc d’ Epernon.” Additionally, you will tour the medieval fortified town of Saint Macaire and the small village of Sauternes.
Enjoy a terrace lunch with a vineyard view at “Le Saprien,” while sipping a fine Grand Cru wine. Two more wine regions and prestigious wineries, such as Lafite Rothschild, will be stops this afternoon

Day 6

A comprehensive viticulture day will help explain why certain grapevines are planted. Learn how vintners analyze certain types of soil, and why this is so important for producing world-class wine. After your class, you will be transferred to the small for-tress-like medieval town of St. Emilion for lunch and wine shopping. The town was carved out of limestone and is by far one of the most stunning towns to visit in all of Bordeaux. Visit Eglise Monolithe, one of Europe’s only underground churches, carved by the hands of the Benedictine monks. Only red wines are made in St. Emilion, and this community is very fond of them. Visit one of ninety-eight wine shops within the village.

Day 7

Today it is time to leave Bordeaux en route to Paris and your return flight to the U.S. We hope you will take time to enjoy one more glass of wine before boarding your plane home.
