Tour Itinerary
Day 1
Upon arrival in Paris, you will be transferred to your upscale hotel property. Your France discovery will begin with a “Get Acquainted with the city” tour and an overview of the city’s layout, orientation and history. The France “Dream” begins as you decide on what to explore. Choices include: Champs Elysees, Arc d Triumph, Eiffel Tower, Opera, Madeleine Church, Saint Germaine des pres, Bastille and Norte Dame.
Day 2
The focus for today is a trip to Versailles and Giverny. At the end of the day, you will be taken back to your hotel to freshen up for dinner. Tonight you will board a beautiful riverboat for a night tour along the Seine through the heart of Paris. A lavish gourmet dinner will be served on board.
Day 3
Today you will visit the famous “Mona Lisa” at the largest museum in Western Europe know as The Louvre. Your afternoon is free to do as you wish. Your evening entertainment includes 60 “Chores Girls” dressed in their feathers, firs, rhinestones and sequins as part of the “Moulin Rouge” show. This event includes a lovely Parisian dinner.
Day 4
Your guide will help you safely board the train for your transport to the Loire Valley wine region. Upon arrival you will certainly be hungry and ready for lunch. Your Loire guide will assist with several wonderful lunch recommendations for restaurants in the area. In the afternoon, you will continue on to “Azay le Rideau,” built on an island in the middle of the Indre. This castle was constructed between 1518 and 1523 for Gilles Berthelot, the wealthy Treasurer of France. It is home to an unbelievable collection of French and Flemish tapestries dating back to the 16th century. Your hotel property for the evening is a 17th century Chateau and a wonderful wine country location.
Day 5
Our wine tasting day begins with a reserve tasting at “Gratien & Meyer. This vineyard and its cellars have panoramic views overlooking the Loire River. Discover a maze of galleries from the middle ages, hiding within the walls of this magnificent winery. Maybe a wine country picnic is in order! Continuing on in the afternoon to the “Chinon Village,” with two wine tasting’s scheduled. An evening dining adventure will be crafted to pair regional wines and French food by an upscale renowned chef from the region. This will be a culinary experience you will not forget.
Day 6
Your day begins with a tour of “Chenonceau Castle,” This is the romantic palace that Henri III gave to his mistress Diane de Poitiers. You will have lunch here, and then you will spend the rest of the afternoon touring the “Palace of Chambord.”
Day 7 Off to Bordeaux visa a rail transfer. Your itinerary includes deluxe accommodations in the heart of St. Emilion. This day will include fascinating tours and tasting’s of the Bordeaux region. St. Emilion is a medieval city, and its vineyards have been recently classed to World Heritage by Unesco.
Day 8
Today is a full day of wine tasting in the Medoc region. Visit villages such as Moulis, Listrac, Margaux, Saint Julien and more. Lunch will be at “Le Saint Julien,” a lovely vineyard inn, where winegrowers have their very own tables with their own wine-bottle racks. This day also includes a Grand Cru Class and wine museums visit.
Day 9
Your transfer today has you leaving Bordeaux for a return trip to Paris and your flight home to the States.
