Tour Itinerary
Day 1
Upon arrival in Paris, you will be transfered to your five-star hotel. Your “Get Acquainted with the City” tour will begin at 2:00 pm. This city orientation tour will give you a great overview of the splendors of Paris. You will see sites that may include Tuileries Gardens, The Louvre, Champs Elysees, Arc de Triumphe, and the Eiffel Tower. Dinner this evening will be back at the hotel where you will find your personal reserva-tion.
Day 2
Today you will venture to Versailles and Giverny. Your day will start early leaving plenty of time to explore the Versailles Castle and the sumptuous luxury of the Sun King, Louis XIV. You may choose to indulge in a wonderful lunch at a French brasserie. The afternoon will include Giverny for a visit of the Monet Homes and Gardens, where you can see several of the rooms that are now devoted to Japanese prints and other master works of art. Your evening will include a riverboat excursion with a lavish gourmet dinner menu as you take in the sights of Paris by night.
Day 3
Today you will visit the famous “Mona Lisa” at the largest museum in Western Europe / The Louvre. This magnificent palace is said to contain more than 400,000 works of art. Your afternoon is free to do as you wish. Enjoy a nice lunch or shop at one of the many boutiques. This evening, be sure to dress in your finest attire for an evening performance of Moulin Rouge.
Day 4
The day belongs to you. Paris is the limit! Your guide is available to assist you in any way, whether you would like suggestions and recommendations or just transportation. Explore other areas of Paris this evening stopping to dine in a fantastic Parisian restaurant.
Day 5
It’s an early start for your wine adventure in Epernay, where you will tour the “Sacred Triangle of Champagne.” Your day will start at the “Chateau de Pierry,” an 18th century castle. You will taste many different types of the wonderful bubbly while touring several cellars of this unbelievable Chateau. After your lunch you will visit another famous champagne house, “Moet & Chandon Cellars.” Here you will uncover an underground network of chalk cellars deep below the town of Epernay. Sip carefully, because we continue on to Reims, where you will visit the famous house of Ruinart, the oldest champagne house in France producing may high quality wines. Then it’s off to “Chateau Boyer Les Crayeres, an elegant turn of the century residence set in an English-style parkland. Relax in luxury as you enjoy gourmet cuisine at this wonderful Chateau that is located minutes from the heart of Reims.
Day 6
This day starts with a walking tour of historical Reims, Reims lies next to the river Vesle. Visit the Basilica St. Remy, The Palais de Tau, and taste champagne in many wonderful champagne cellars. See the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Reims, undoubtedly one of the finest cathedrals in all Christendom. You will have lunch at your leisure in the Brasserie Flo, visiting two more incredible champagne cellars after your lunch, such as Veuve Clicquot and Pommery.
Day 7
Off to Burgundian wine country to the quaint village of Vezelay. Enjoy this breath-taking medieval village in the heart of this magical wine region. After you check into your five star property you will have dinner at the Bernard Loiseau Restaurant. The Bernard Loiseau’s restaurant is one of France’s greatest restaurants, acclaimed by all gastronomic guides.
Day 8
Today includes a full day tour of Beaune, the capital of South Burgundy, also referred to as the capital of wine. Visit the famous Hospice de Beaune, and visit the vineyard of Clos de Vougeot. Your guide will make wineries recommendations to round out the day. This great region is known to produce some of the best wines in the world.
Day 9
It’s off to Dijon to catch your rail transfer back to Paris for your return flight home. In route you can peruse the Wine Tours of the World brochure to start planning your next wine tasting excursion.
