Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Full Day Driving Tour of Paris Today with your private guide and chauffeur you will spend the day exploring Paris: You will explore some of the most charming and authentic neighborhoods , landmarks and site, such as: **Le Marais - One of the best-loved Right Bank neighborhoods and the ‘Jewish neighborhood’. **Quartier Latin (Latin quarter) - The intellectual heart & soul of Paris. Bookstores, schools, churches, clubs, student dives, Roman ruins, publishing houses & expensive boutiques characterize the district. You'll follow in the footsteps of Descartes, Verlaine, Camus, Sartre, James Thurber, Elliot Paul, and Hemingway as you explore. **Saint Germain des Pres - For some, the most colorful Left Bank quarter. The secret of the district lies in discovering its narrow streets, hidden squares, & magnificent gardens, including the Jardin du Luxembourg. **Montmartre - the most famous outer quarter of Paris. Topped by Sacre-Coeur, Montmartre is the highest Paris hill at 130 meters. Very rural until a century ago, Montmartre is the last village in the city. Many artists, including Renoir, Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso lived there in late 19th / early 20th century. **Arc de Triomphe — The Arc de Triomphe still exudes a certain grandeur despite the crowds of tourists and the tacky souvenir shops. **The Eiffel Tower (Tour Eiffel) — No other monument that better symbolizes Paris. **Les Invalides – In 1670, Louis the 14th built Les Invalides, a military hospital - a masterpiece of French classical architecture. The ashes of Napoleon, rest under the dome. **Notre Dame Cathedral — Impressive Gothic cathedral that was the inspiration for Victor Hugo's novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame. **Sacré Coeur — A church perched on top of the highest point in Paris. Behind the church is the artists' area, in front are spectacular views of the whole city. **Sainte Chapelle — Far more beautiful than the famous but dark Notre Dame.
As a delicious treat we have planned a tour of some of the chocolate makers in Paris, where you will get to see the ways they make CHOCOLATE....and taste it!
