Bastide de Lavande

From 1834 to 2002, the same prominent family of this prestigious area between the Luberon and Forcalquier owned the property.

Recently restored with loving attention to every authentic detail, this wonderful villa is surrounded by fields of lavender. Classed “cité de caractère”, the quaint medieval village nearby reveals its rich history in the striking architecture of grand local residences and “hôtels particuliers” — beautiful façades, sculptured doors and delicately worked window frames. For many years, this village was the regional capital of lavender and today remains an important production center — a detail hard to forget with a distinct delicate fragrance wafting though the village on a warm summer night.

With classic French country ease, Bastide de Lavande accommodates up to 28 people. Offering two large kids' lofts, baby equipment on-site, a tennis court, a private swimming pool and many other diversions for young people, Bastide de Lavande is particularly ideal for large families or groups traveling with children. It's also an ideal location for an active vacation of biking, water sports, hiking and exploring the Luberon to the west or the Alps of Provence to the east.

Main house: 8 bedrooms sleep 24 guests plus guest house: 2 bedrooms sleeps 4 guests. AC only in the guesthouse. Comfortable refreshing system in the floors of the mian house. Each bedroom has a sink, and most offer en suite bathrooms. Second Level, East Wing: Bedroom 1 (Twins, 35”, converted to King size on request) with private bathroom with sink and shower; Bedrooms 2, 3 and 4, each with twin beds, share a bathroom with tub and shower. Second Floor, West Wing: Bedrooms 5 and 6 – Children's lofts, one themed for boys and one for girls, each with bathroom with 2 showers and 3 sinks; 6 single beds in each. Third Floor: Bedroom 7 (Twins, 35”) with private bathroom with shower; Bedroom 8 (Twins, 35”) with private bathroom and loft. The Guesthouse, a converted “pigeonnier”, sleeps 4 in Bedrooms 9 and 10, both with twin beds (converted to King size on request), a bathroom with shower and air-conditioning.

Gracious and welcoming living areas with sweeping views, fully equipped kitchen, BBQ, and a lovely outdoor dining area that seats 30 by the pool or under the terrace (pergola).

Heated or cooling system in the floors in the main house, AC in the guest house, excellent linens, baby equipment, ping pong, foosball, tennis court, pool, garage (if needed), fax machine, internet WIFI access, English TV channels/DVD, surveillance and gate with entry code, fully-equipped kitchens in main and pool area, on-site care of grounds and housekeeping, with familial cooking services without additional charge.
