You will immediately feel enchanted by Chteau Saint Ours as you wind your way up the long private drive, through rolling horse pastures and well-tended gardens toward its impressive turrets and steep pitched roofs. Dating from the 14thC, the chteau has been in the same family for over 600 years. A passionate and artistic eye is evident in the recent and extensive restoration. The casual elegance of the living spaces, the large open kitchen/dining room and the wonderful outdoor spaces combine to make this home ideal for a family vacation. There is even a consecrated chapel for the possibility of an intimate wedding celebration. The lush rose bushes and manicured gardens will offer a perfect backdrop.
Beds & Baths
Sleeps up to 9 people in the chteau and in the adjacent Manse (guest wing). Main chteau: Master bedroom (Twins, each 36"w, can be combined as King) with en suite bathroom (clawfoot tub and separate shower); Bedroom 2 (Twins, each 36"w, can be combined as King) with en suite bathroom (bath/shower); Bedroom 3 (4-poster, extra long King, 71"w), with en suite bathroom (clawfoot tub, separate shower, & double sink). Powder room on ground floor. Manse wing: Bedroom 4 (Double, 55"w) and Bedroom 5 (Single, 36"w) share bathroom (tub/shower). Powder room on ground floor.
Living Space
In the chteau, a large living area with open fireplace; well-equipped kitchen opens to dining room in restored bakery/kitchen (fournil) with large fireplace (seats up to 9); adjacent outdoor dining terrace. The Manse wing has 14thC vaulted living room with large open fireplace.
Household Amenities
TV with satellite (CNN, Sky, BBC, Bloomberg), DVD, stereo, fax & separate fax/data line. Well-equipped kitchen with microwave, 2 fridges, large freezer, dishwasher, espresso maker, clothes washer & dryer. Two car garage.
Outdoors
Large swimming pool (50'x20') with pool-side seating. Large terrace & sitting areas, well-tended gardens, pastures and views. Shared courtyard lined with lemon trees. Note: full time residents in separate wing of chteau have private entrance & separate outdoor areas which ensure full privacy.
