Domaine des Muriers
Built in 1840 on land formerly owned by the Duchy of Uzès, Domaine des Muriers offers a serene garden courtyard setting, surrounded by vineyards and golden fields of wheat and sunflowers. Meticulously restored by local craftsmen, Domaine des Muriers retains its original splendor with lovely views of its perfectly maintained grounds. Several terraces (and a large Jacuzzi) on the southwest side of the home offer welcoming outdoor areas to relax, accessible from several indoor living spaces.
"Elegant country" best describes the interior with ample common areas including a huge salon — perfect for families or groups of friends. The pool is particularly enticing with its modern design and a stunning exterior passageway with arcades evokes a cloister-like feel.
Just a short walk away is the village of Montaren, which has a wonderful bakery as well as a post office, newsagents and hairdresser. Just outside the village is a large supermarket/pharmacy and another hairdresser. The delightful and historic town of Uzès, just 2.5 miles away, bustles with markets each Wednesday and Saturday in its pedestrian center. The Camargue and the Mediterranean, the dramatic mountains and canyons of the Cevennes, and the fast flowing rivers of the Ardèche are all within a 45-minute drive.
