This charming 18thC chateau is more than just a home; its owners are antique dealers and so the décor is ever-changing as they try out their latest discoveries.
The interior design is immutable however. Cool cut stone floors (warmed in winter by in-floor heating and antique carpets), high ceilings, historic architectural details, bright white walls, airy uncluttered rooms, and a décor of carefully chosen and tastefully arranged items set this home apart. The owners' eclecticism results in a Louis XV armoire being placed next to a contemporary chair or an antique table topped with a modern lamp.
Despite its imposing architecture and formal layout, the Manoir is casual and relaxed. In the large, bright kitchen a wide fireplace and large wooden table that seats 12, plus the relegation of the more utilitarian equipment (like the oven) to the adjoining pantry, ensure that this is one of the most popular gathering spots in the house.
In summer, the garden level is extra cool and the lower sitting area is a natural place to relax. (There is even an antique sleigh bed for siestas.) The formal dining room, with its interesting collection of culinary antiques, is pleasant in hot weather or you can dine outside on the covered terrace.
The main bedrooms are on the upper floors. Of the three middle floor bedrooms, all are elegantly uncluttered, and each has a full en suite bathroom with either tub or shower. On the top floor, two more bedrooms are perfectly suitable for either adults or adolescents and share bathroom.
