Sample famous Bordeaux and Médoc wines. Explore Toulouse and the walled city of Carcassonne, Europe's largest fortified citadel.

Tour Itinerary:

Days 1-3:
Arrive in Bordeaux and transfer to the luxurious Château Grand Barrail in the wine-growing region of St. Emilion for three days of exploration in the châteaux of Bordeaux and the Médoc. In St. Emilion visit the Eglise Monolithe, one of France's largest underground churches and see the 13th-century ramparts that encircle the village.

Days 4-6:
Travel via Bergerac to the village of Trémolat to spend three nights at Le Vieux Logis, an exclusive property tucked away in the gorgeous Dordogne region. Spend your days exploring the beautiful Vezere Valley; the Lascaux II exhibition center; La Roque Saint Christophe and Les Eyzies - the site where the Cro Magnon was discovered. Continue exploring the Dordogne region to the historic village of La Roque-Gageac and Château des Milandes. Wander through the streets of the small town of Sarlat le Canéda.

Days 7-8:
Travel to Toulouse, "La Ville Rose," for lunch then continue to the famous walled city of Carcassonne for a visit to the Basilique St-Nazaire, with its lovely stained glass, and a stay at Hotel de la Cité, set in glorious gardens. Visit the 12th-century Château Comtal, the last inner bastion of the city.

Day 9:
Transfer to the airport in Carcassonne for a departure flight.
