Day 1 – Arrive Oahu – and aloha, Hawaii vacation
Hawaii family vacation begins at Honolulu Airport. A transfer is included from Honolulu Airport is included to The Royal Hawaiian, A Luxury Collection Resort; when you arrive, you can drop your bags, kick off your shoes, and dabble your toes in the warm waters of Waikiki Beach. You'll have a hands-on opportunity to learn a little about the charming customs of Hawaiiana when you make Hawaiian leis and learn to dance the hula at our welcome reception tonight.

Day 2 – Visit Pearl Harbor and learn to surf at Waikiki
Take a sightseeing tour of Honolulu today. Grandparents and kids alike form an everlasting bond on a visit to Pearl Harbor; see the USS Arizona Memorial that honors the brave men who lost their lives at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. You'll find this visit to be a special opportunity on your Hawaii family vacation for the entire family to learn about one of the most important chapters in American history. Grab a surfboard and hit the waves off Waikiki Beach this afternoon with a surfing lesson*; the Hawaiian name for this ancient sport – he'e nalu – means "wave sliding."

Day 3 – Marine life and more on Maui, the Valley Island

Day 4 – Celebrate Hawaiiana on your family Hawaii vacation
Enjoying the sun, the ocean and learning about Hawaiian life and culture, past and present, is what a Hawaii family vacation is all about – and today's no exception! First, spend the morning at the fascinating Ho'omana'o Experience, a celebration of hundreds of years of traditions that define Hawaii, yesterday and today. The Aloha Welcome Chant is followed by a hula performance, a delicious Hawaiian-style breakfast, and interactive cultural encounters where you'll experience the traditions of the early Hawaiians. See demonstrations and try your hand at activities such as poi pounding, throw-net fishing and kapa cloth making. Later, enjoy time exploring the old whaling town and island capital of Lahaina, before returning to your resort to take advantage of Maui's sun and surf as your family pleases.

Day 5 – Your Hawaii family vacation continues on the Big Island

Check out lava tubes, craters, steam fissures and a landscape that looks more like the moon than a tropical Hawaiian island – so much, in fact, that the astronauts on the first moon mission trained here! Day 6 – A day in a tropical paradise on the Big Island
The most difficult decision today on your Hawaii family vacation will be what fun things you'll do during a day of leisure at your resort along the Big Island's sunny Kohala coast. It's a swimmer's paradise, but you can also go snorkeling, play tennis or golf, or indulge in other outdoor activities as you please. You'll also have an opportunity to do some sightseeing by helicopter* today on a two-hour excursion over the volcanoes, valleys and rainforests of the Big Island, for an additional $550 per person.

Day 7 – A catamaran sail and a fireside "talk-story"

Following an afternoon that's free to explore more of the Big Island's wonders – or enjoy the amenities of your Waikoloa Beach resort – your Hawaii family vacation concludes with a special farewell dinner tonight.
