Spa
Mauna Lani Resort would like you to experience on your Hawaii vacation, the very essence of the Hawaiian culture and its healing elements. Feel the warm spirits lift your heart, mind and soul. All of our Hawaiian treatments begin with a soothing foot bath.
Lomilomi Lomilomi is a spiritual, ancient Hawaiian massage technique passed on through family generations by either the kupuna (elders) or kahuna (keepers of the secret). This treatment begins with a pule (prayer) in the Hawaiian language and employs the use of forearms and elbows to create a rhythmical and vigorous euphoria.
Lomilomi Hula Lomilomi Hula transcends your being into another dimension with lomilomi strokes choreographed to Hawaiian music. Created by our own kumu (teacher) lomilomi, it is descriptively portrayed as doing the hula (dance) on the body. Sensuously delightful. A must for couples!
Opu Huli Opu (stomach) huli (turn) was traditionally performed on our keiki (little ones) when they acquired an upset tummy. A candle is lit, your wawae (feet) measured, and a pule repeated while warm kukui nut oil slowly fills your piko (navel). This lomilomi begins at your na‘au (abdomen), circulating outward, comforting your entire being. For jet lag, menstrual cramps, gastritis, or any low back or abdominal discomfort.
Pohaku Pa'a Pohaku Pa'a (basalt stones) had many different uses in Hawaiian culture. The ili'ili (little) stones were fire-heated, then positioned along the spine of a freshly oiled back. Various sizes of hot pohaku pa‘a and kukui or coconut nut oils are utilized in this massage.

Golf
Mauna Lani Resort's two championship golf courses, the Francis H. I'i Brown North and South, offer a challenging experience to novice and professional golf enthusiasts alike. The recipient of Golf Magazine's Gold Medal Award as one of America's Best Golf Resorts every year since the inception of the award in 1988 and host to the nationally televised Senior Skins Golf Game for 11 years, Mauna Lani's courses have earned a prestigious reputation among the world's golfing meccas. Both courses are masterpieces of design, each strikingly different, yet equally challenging. Each course is a world apart geographically, and in playing experience. Mauna Lani Resort's spectacular Hawaii golf courses stand as a fine testament to what environmentally-sensitive golf course architecture can achieve. Nelson-Wright-Haworth ensured the thoughtful preservation of the numerous archeological sites through the courses -- the trails, the fishponds, and the rock carvings (petroglyphs) of ancient Hawaiians.
