Sailing & Cruises

Several cruise outfitters offer ocean excursions via catamaran, powerboat or sailboat along the famed Na Pali Coast and other areas of Kaua`i. Per person rates for a standard two-hour to half-day cruise range from $55 to $75; longer cruises are $99 and up.

Hanalei Sea Tours, PO Box 1437, Hanalei, HI 96714. This cruise operator has raft and catamaran cruises from two hours to a half-day or longer.

Na Pali Adventures, Hanalei. This operator has catamaran cruises on the Na Pali Coast; winner of Green Star Award for environmentally sensitive tours; its vessels use recycled vegetable oil for fuel.

Liko Kaua`i Cruises. Locally owned cruises feature Na Pali Coast highlights and narration on history of the area.

Capt. Andy's Kaua`i. This luxury 55-foot sailing catamaran does seasonal whale watching cruises, picnic/snorkeling excursions and Na Pali Coast scenic cruises. 

Na Pali Explorer, 4469 Waialo Road, #23, Eleele Shopping Center, Eleele, Kaua`i. This cruise operator uses open powerboats for half-day or longer seasonal whale watching, snorkel excursions and cruises along the Na Pali Coast.

 Bluewater Sailing, PO Box 1318, Hanalei. The 42-foot Lady Leanne II ketch-rigged yacht does half-day scenic sails, two-hour sunset sails and private charters in Kaua`i's pristine waters.

Catamaran Kahanu, Hanalei, Kauai`. This Na Pali Coast catamaran cruiser takes in all the sights of the famed scenic coast - waterfalls, majestic cliffs, lava tubes, sea caves - and includes historic/cultural narration. See marine life and whales in season. Specializes in half-day cruises.

Kayaking & Rafting

Kayak paddling and inflatable raft excursions are a popular adventure on Kaua`i's inland and coastal waterways. The following outfitters provide guided excursions on the ocean, rivers, walkways and remote coastlines. Standard half-day kayak adventures range from $40 to $65; raft adventures range from $55 to $80.

Outfitters Kaua`i, 2827A Poipu Road, Koloa, HI 96756. This outfitter on Kaua`i's sunny southern coast provides half-day sea kayak and all-day deep jungle kayaking adventures, plus hikes to waterfalls, bike trips on mountain trails or ocean shorelines; rentals. 

Kayak Kaua`i. Wailua River paddling excursions to fern grotto or jungle waterfalls hikes; also Hanalei River national wildlife refuge excursions and Na Pali Coast kayak voyages, plus other hiking and biking excursions and rentals.

Paradise Outdoor Adventures. Tours and rental kayaks for Wailua River paddling excursions, motor boats, and seacycles.

Scuba & Snorkeling

Several Kauai scuba diving outfitters offer diving tours to Kauai's ocean sanctuaries and coral reefs for close-up looks at the incredible tropical marine life. An introductory one-tank scuba dive begins at $85; two-tank dives are around $100-125. Snorkeling adventure standard cruises are 2½ hours to a half-day and range from $55 to $75 per person, scuba equipment included, plus snacks and lunch (on half-day cruises).

Sunrise Diving Adventures. Specializes in first-time divers. Complete PADI instruction and equipment provided. Transportation, snacks provided. Snorkelers welcome too.

Wet-n-Wonderful Ocean Sports. First-time PADI diving instruction and equipment rentals. Dive excursions around Kaua`i, including spectacular night dives.

Fathom Five Divers. Custom dive boats, PADI certification and refresher classes and dives plus a variety of half-day dives and snorkeling at Kaua`i's best reef locations.

Dive Kaua`i, 976 Kuhio Highway, Kapa`a. A full range of PADI instructional dives, equipment rentals, and dive/snorkel excursions.

Nitrox Tropical Divers. PADI guided dive tours and all gear plus equipment rentals and underwater scooter vehicles that allow faster and further travel.
