Maui Vacations Beach Guide

Surrounded by a stunning 120 miles of coastline, Maui prouldy claims over 30 miles of beaches. Many of which are easily reached beach parks with complete with lifeguards, facilities for picnicking and restrooms as well. Others are undeveloped, pristine, "secret spots" found off the beaten path.
All of the beaches found on Maui feature glittering crystal-blue waters, warm, aromatic tradewinds, and azure skies that stretch infinitely. Most of Maui's beaches are white sand beaches, however black and red sand beaches also form a part of the island's unique inventory.
Many of Maui's beaches are recognized worldwide for incomparable surfing and windsurfing conditions. Other beaches are perfectly suited for beginning snorkelers, beachcombers, families and children.

Important to note
:  Even though the ocean serves as Maui's playground, it is important to keep in mind that there are precautions to observe. Offshore winds and currents can be very powerful, and in addition, they can change suddenly and unexpectedly. If warning signs are posted, OR if current conditions warrant caution, it is best to avoid straying too far from shore or heading out too far to kayak, windsurf or sail.
Please understand that our beach descriptions are intended to provide general information about Maui's beaches. Just because a beach is described as being ideal for beginners, for having good swimming, or being calm, this does not ensure that the beach is right for you. In addition, again, conditions can change without warning. The best tool for determining for yourself whether or not a particular beach is appropriate for you and your ability level is your own judgement.

Those who know the most about Maui's beach and ocean safety, the Hawaii Lifeguard Association, and several State agencies, have created an excellent website complete with all one needs to know to make for fantastic Maui ocean encounters.
