For many of the sport's most avid fans, the words "golf" and "Maui" are virtually synonymous. Nowhere else is the Pacific quite so blue, the fairways so green, and the sunlight so perfectly golden. Maui boasts over 15 golf courses several of which are ranked at or near the top of the "world's best" lists. Indeed, it is difficult to imagine a more dramatic setting for these 18-hole masterpieces, with fairways abutting ancient lava flows, tees surrounded by palm groves, and greens arched by rainbows created in the ocean mist. The island is home to several public and resort courses, and is the setting for many of the world's most famous professional tournaments (you never know when you might bump into a legend in the clubhouse).  

The Bay Course

Course characteristics: rolling and hilly terrain; 68 bunkers total; 8 water hazards total; picturesque fifth hole has golfers at the edge of the Pacific.

Wailea Blue Course

A long-time favorite of many returning guests, the Wailea Blue is an award-winning course designed by Arthur Jack Snyder with wide fairways and beautiful mountain and ocean views, lockers, lessons, restaurant, club and shoe rentals, and warm-up area.

Kaanapali Resort South Course

Kaanapali Golf Courses offers 36 holes of legendary golf that plays through the beautiful foothills of the West Maui Mountains and thrills golfers with sweeping panoramic views of the coastline. The 6,600 yard, Par 71 Resort South Course has many holes running along natural canals, gulches and coconut tree boundaries. Arthur Jack Snyder designed a unique course with subtle, undulating greens, creating a golfing experience enjoyable for golfers of all abilities. The Resort South Course will be closed for renovations from April 1 - November 15, 2005. Renovations include a new irrigation installation, re-grassing of greens and tee boxes and renovations to the bunkers and landscaped areas surrounding the course. The clubhouse will also be updated with new island style furniture and fixtures and a teaching facility will be added to the driving range area.

Kaanapali Tournament North Course

Kaanapali Golf Courses offers 36 holes of legendary golf that plays through the beautiful foothills of the West Maui Mountains and thrills golfers with sweeping panoramic views of the coastline. Don't be fooled, Kaanapali offers far more than just breathtaking scenery - it is recognized as a world-class golf facility. The Tournament North Course is one of only two courses in the state designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. Challenges include Jones's huge, rolling greens and unpredictable West Maui trade winds. This course played host to professional events including the Senior PGA Kaanapali Classic and the LPGA Kemper Open. Kaanapali is "Where the World Comes to Play." Kaanapali Golf Courses lie in the heart of the Kaanapali Beach Resort. Kaanapali Beach Resort is a vacationers' paradise with award-winning resort hotels and distinctive condominiums nestled along the internationally renowned Kaanapali Beach. Guests staying at the resort receive preferential rates.
